Re: Cheap nosh on Friday

Well Ourla, at the time they were serving the £1 nosh, there were hardly any queues at the bars in the Final Whistle. As we approached kickoff, then yes, the queues did build but to be honest the crowd was not huge tonight. I still feel the bar service was better last Saturday at Ravenhill. There th...

Re: Cheap nosh on Friday

Yes, my son and I did partake of the pie, mash, peas and gravy for £1, and very good value for money it was too! Not the biggest portion, but for the £1 we paid definitely worth it! They did run out around 6:50 but by that point, I would have thought everyone who came down early for it would have be...

Re: What a Lovely Trip to Belfaast !

Welcome to the Forum Sue! I too was in Belfast last weekend for the game, but having worked over there for a number of years, rather than the Thomas Cook trip or the one organised by johnthegriff, I made my own way and spent a great afternoon in the company of ex-colleagues and Ulster fans before th...

Re: Coaching Staff

I guess it will, but I'd prefer an overall defensive shift and "coach" players not to step away from the ball carrier as we have seen so much of this season. Also, whilst Toomua may bring an improvement to the defence when he returns from duties with Aus, he won't be with us after this season so eve...

Manu is crocked.... again!

According to Aunty Beeb: https://www.bbc.com/sport/rugby-union/45645409 A few games into the season and our injury count is getting dangerous, yet again. With regards to Manu, whilst I'd prefer to see the lad back firing on all cylinders and performing as we have seen in seasons gone by, with the pa...

Re: Tigers v Sale

Tigers can't lose this one as Sale look even worse. Everything will be alright again, Mavis9 can go on the Tigers To Be Crowned Premiership Champions topic and tell everyone that she told them so, a Young'un will tell us it's all back on track and Diamond will blame the ref, all back to normal! I t...

Re: Tigers v Sale

I’m not sure Telusa will be available, after a concussion there are Return to Play protocols to follow. As far as I know, this is 2 weeks rest symptom free, clearance by a doctor etc. A link on the rfu website suggests 19 days minimum. Given that he was injured against Wasps last Sunday, next Sunday...

Tigers v Sale

So, as we can’t change the past, what team do we think we will or should put out against Sale next Sunday? We seem to picking up a growing injury and others who aren’t “available” list that will restrict options, including: YBY Manu Kyle Thompstone (will he be fit?) Spencer Toomua TPN Jimmy Stevens ...

Re: No Dan Cole in the England training squad

I forgot Spencer too. I really hope that we can get back to winning ways. Yes, we much improved in the 2nd half yesterday, with some good, albeit short shows of what’s possible, but we should not have been 11-30 down at halftime. I’d be happy with a couple of wins in the next few games, not overly b...

Re: No Dan Cole in the England training squad

So, what team do we think will be played next Sunday? We are looking well down on first choice picks in a number of positions, and after yesterday’s injury count. Manu, YBY, Kyle, Jimmy Stevens, Telusa is still out with HIA, is Thompston due back(?), Toomua and TPN still away with Australia (I think...

Re: Stewards: where are they when you need them?

My son and I attended a BC Lions (Canadian Football League - similar to NFL) game while on holiday in Vancouver recently. There was not only 100% bag search but also a 100% pat down. I believe this served 2 purposes, one being the carrying of offensive weapons, etc, but also stopped you taking in yo...

Re: Saints away game to be played at Twickenham

Having booked travel for this game with johnthegriff after the Falcons match, I thought I'd better sort match tickets out. The RFU had emailed me last week about "The Derby" and the link only gave me access to Ticketmaster with their regular charges. I then recalled this thread and the same tickets ...

Guy Thompson injury

Did anyone else see on Twitter the report that new signing from Wasps, Guy Thompson, is apparently out until the New Year! Was this during the Treviso game or at Oval Park? Or worse, was he signed when injured?

Apparently we're looking at Guy Mercer (released from Bath) as an injury replacement.
