Re: As predicted - Friday night in Belfast

What favours were you expecting?

If anything, they DID do fans a favour by scheduling the match at around the same time as Ulster's usual matches!

Re: Olympic Stadium

I have watched rugby in an athletics stadium before (Commonwealth Games Sevens at the City of Manchester Stadium) and, while the running track did create a large barrier between the stands & the pitch, the atmoshere was great & didn't really spoil the overall event. I'd rather watch rugby in a moder...

Re: Olympic Stadium

The roads around there aren't actually too bad and access is far better than access to Wasps' current home in Wycombe. Plus transport links are also far better than you make out. Stratford (the Tube stop nearest the stadium) is on the central, DLR & overground lines & is a brand new, spacious statio...

Re: Some advise please.

One suggestion I would make is to re-visit the layout of the CV and see if it is presented in the 'best' format as per the current recruitment trends. Sometimes what you may believe is the best format (eg the format you last did your CV in X years ago) may not be the style that current recruiters ar...

Re: Yearbook?

Both the badge & the yearbook were actually relatively new ST benefits. I think the yearbook was only introduced from around 2002/03 onwards? (I'm sure someone will correct me but I can't check my own as I am at work & the books are not!) As for the badge, I think they were only produced for 4 seaso...

Re: Re-naming grounds

Probably only a matter of time before it reaches RU. Predict once Sarries have a ground it will soon be labelled by something SA. It already has happened in RU. You just need to look beyond the top tier of English rugby to see examples. Cambridge RFC play at Volac Park, formerly Wests Renault Park ...

Re: RFU Board What exactly does Rob Andrew do ?

I thought it was "only" around £300k.

However the same could also be said of Johnno. I bet he's on over £200k pa & his successes as England Manager are probably fewer than RA's as Elite Director of Rugby.

Re: RFU Board What exactly does Rob Andrew do ?

I don't agree. He does his job; The job he's paid to do. All too often I think he is an easy scapegoat for the failures of the RFU, often used by people who simply don't understand his role & simply guess at it based on what they BELIEVE he does or doesn't do. It would be like singling out Johnno fo...

http://www.leicestertigers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=31135&p=467594&hilit=andrew#p467594 This has been answered numerous times before. For example, here is my reply from back in January on a similar subject and even includes RA's original job description. If you read it you will realise that th...

Re: Welford Road Stadium

Wales won't be playing at the Millennium Stadium though. That was one of the provisos from the IRB in allowing it to be used as the 2015 competition was granted only as a single-nation bid. Therefore Cardiff will be used for pool games in a pool other than the one Wales are in, forcing the Taffs to ...

Re: Welford Road Stadium

Italy weren't a tier 1 nation back in 1991 though. WR was also the 2nd largest English stadium used in the RWC that year (after Twickenham). The others were Gloucester & Otley!!! By 2015 Italy will be classed as a tier 1 side & WR will be one of the smallest stadia used. Therefore I highly doubt we'...

Re: PRL hit out at RFU

As far as I recall, the PGB doesn't include representatives from the Championship & I don't think it includes player representatives either. Is is essentially a 50:50 body split between England Rugby & PRL to administer & govern the most recent EPS agreement. The PGB doesn't "broadly represent the w...

Re: PRL hit out at RFU

I agree that the RFU needs a massive shakeup and that most of the old gaurd need to be removed but I don't believe that PRL are the right people to do it. Afterall, the RFU is supposed to act in the interests of the sport as a whole in England, whereas PRL only acts in the interests of the top tier ...

Re: PRL hit out at RFU

Wiggo, the RFU DO actually pay the compensation money over to the clubs in the manner it was intended, however PRL then give the equal & opposite amounts to the other prem teams in order that the amount eac club receives is the same! Ironically it is the RFU who were trying to do the right thing wit...

Re: Welford Road Stadium

If we are to hold some matches at the RWC in 2015 we will neeed to build at least one new stand and maybe the club house end as well No we won't. The bid proposal was made based on the current capacity & there was no mention of the need for us to increase capacity. The last 2 RWC games held at WR w...
