Re: QUINS VS TIGERS 28TH DEC

Genge will go back to Bristol as soon as he can. That is his stated aim. It wasn't when he appeared on Rugby tonight at the end of last season. Quite the opposite. Yes he would like to go back to Brizzle, probably towards the end of his career. Now, no. The reasons why he left in the first place ar...

Re: Jonny May

From what I have read, it seemed that it was just the property investment companies set up jointly with Nigel Wray were what caused the breach. He thought that they were not covered by the salary cap. I think that their "standard" salary bill was within the cap. No joint investments were made this s...

Re: Saracens Cap Investigation / Grounds for Appeal

Strikes me that this is just a diversion to silence the call for an investigation to determine if Saracens are currently still operating with in the cap this season. Saracens must be delighted as they will not be investigated and the new salary cap investigation will not conclude until next autumn....

Re: Joe Batley signed on loan today

Leicester Tigers have signed utility forward Joe Batley on loan from fellow Premiership side Bristol Bears. The 23-year-old has turned out twice for the Bears so far this season, with both appearances coming in the Premiership Cup. Batley can be recalled to Bristol at any time and has also been on ...

Re: Calvisano v Tigers - return fixture next week

We are going to get eaten alive by the Chiefs. That team selection would, but things might improve with a more 1st choice team. Although I doubt it if we stick to the team orders for most of the season, of kick possession away every time we get the ball off the forwards. Only managed to watch the s...

Should've targeted Tompkins a year or two ago, you could see that all he needed were the opportunities, and some good coaching.
Haven't you been reading the other posts on here about the standard of our current coaches? :smt002

-18 now. They'll only need 5 more games to overtake us.
Could even be 4.
the most they could get in 4 games is 20 points that would put them on 2 points we have 4
My poor maths. Oops,

Re: Saints away - Saturday 30th November

That little patch of optimism after the Cardiff win was nice, wasn't it. Yep, a bit like the win over Glaws, followed by a horror show against LI. How we can go from moderate to abysmal, twice, I don't know. While I agree that sacking people without a replacement lined up is not going to do us any ...

Re: Tigers fans walk away

From today’s Guardian “The Tigers flirted with the drop last season, saving themselves by doubling Newcastle, who ended up at the bottom. They remain the Premiership’s best-supported club in terms of numbers, but the 92% capacity they enjoyed at Welford Road in 2008-09 dropped to 81% last season an...

Re: New Saracens salary cap investigation

A spot check usually implies that no notice is given. One typical reason no notice is given is to prevent any doctoring of evidence. Why has this been leaked in advance of the request being made to Saracens? From the article, I think that the request has been made, but PRL aren't sure if they have ...

The Beeb is reporting that Scott Wisemantel, England attack coach since mid 2018, is moving on despite being offered a new contract, his last contract having expired with the World Cup. The article says Steve Borthwick is expected to join us after the Six Nations. The article doesn’t say there is a...

Re: Saracens Cap Investigation / Grounds for Appeal

The Times is saying that PRL are looking at doing a mid-season audit of Sarries, now-ish. If Sarries agree, then fine, if not, then not sure if PRL can force it. Also, from an interview with Nigel Wray a few years ago, he said that he felt that the salary cap was a bad law and should be got rid of. ...
