Swanky wingers

So having just heard Mr Healey use the word "swanky" as a general descriptor for some wingers (he was holding up Josh Bassett as an example of non-swanky). I wondered what that fine purveyor of verbal bilge means by "swanky"; and more to the point, who are the wingers, past and present, who would re...

Re: Tigers v Warriors

I'm not a fan of shooting the messenger, usually, but I will make an exception, in the case of the OP. Ah, so it's my fault is it :smt002 :smt003 :smt007 Haven't seen the game but read this thread and the match feed. Sounds like a horror show on the tackling front in the main. I agree that Worceste...

Re: Cohen, Glynn, to be sacked?

Peter Tom now needs to complete the job by removing those responsible for the recruitment travesties and the lies put out to the supporters. If those individuals had any virtue, they would do it themselves but I doubt if they will.

Re: Painful!

I saw the same at (I think) Gloucester last season. Hashed up a move within the 10 with a lazy piece of handling and laughed his socks off.Telusa did something similar and was spitting feathers.

Re: Cohen, Glynn, MOC to be sacked?

The recruitment of O'Connor reminded me of that Douglas Adams book where a super-computer (Deep Thought?) was built, to provide the answer to the question about the creation of the universe. After the cream of the planet's scientists and philosophers had finished their lifelong tasks of programming ...

Re: Scrapping Matchday Programs

What is the point of buying them. You just get annoyed wading through pages and pages of adverts and pictures, to find one "opinion" article. Does Chutes write a blog or tweet these days?

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 1

Could Adam Thompstone convert to a 7? Seems to possess many of the attributes. I like the ‘thinking outside the envelope’ approach...but I think it’s probably 7-8 years too late for him to switch positions! Still, welcome to the forum...and don’t let the occasional grumpiness put you off. Just thro...

Re: Logo

I fully agree with ellis9. Sportspersons do what they do because they get a buzz from it, not from some sense of public duty. If you remove the current entire professional sports population there will be a permanent queue. Why should that confer any entitlement to be "set up for life" as opposed to,...

Re: Nigel Owens

I think that his ego has now taken over his judgement. There have been signs of this in the past two seasons and Austin Healy has been correct in his assessment of this particular elephant in the room.

Re: Wuss vs Tigers

Williams injury looked more than a strain to me to judge by the pain he was clearly suffering. Holmes you could see the muscle go into a short spasm, he should be ok after a bit of time off. BOC looked like he was having a bit of breathing difficulties so cracked rib or sternum possible, hopefully j...

Re: Wuss vs Tigers

Just a win in this one needed, as with last week a bonus will be a huge bonus.
The problem this season in the AP has been underperformance at Welford Road, including not enough bonus points. They can't be recouped, that damage is done. They just have to get what they can, now.
