Re: Bath and the Whatever it's called now cup.

Normally I'd agree but a win is needed. No it isnt. This is an opportunity to rest key players, test a few young'uns and get the splinters out of a few more bench warmers' backsides. Do that successfully and the competition is worthwhile. Injuring or risking injury to proven players who happen to b...

Re: Bath and the Whatever it's called now cup.

I certainly wouldn't risk Burns or Williams. Normally I'd agree but a win is needed. I think the competition should really have a limit on the number of first team caps involved in match days squads and give clubs the opportunity to enter the competition with some real confidence and conviction in ...

Re: Bath and the Whatever it's called now cup.

Can't see Bath playing their current 1st and 2nd choice LH. I'd be surprised if any of the Bath 1st team that played in the gruelling match against Exeter on Sunday were in the side to play in the Anglo-Welsh game this Friday. It's a fair point I'll give you that but the two Bath loose heads did sh...

Re: Bath and the Whatever it's called now cup.

So what do you hope Cockers and Mauger do? Hoping that it is coached by Deacon, Allen and Murphy like the A league team. For Bath like to see 1) Cilliers, 2) Thacker, 3) Balmain 4) Lock with a tough name to spell, 5) Wells 6) Hamilton, 7) Evans, 8) Leonardi 9) Harrison, 10) Worth 12) Roberts, 13) S...

Re: Leicester Tigers 2016/17 Squad/Transfers/Contract thread

There are a few on Shedweb thinking that Carl Fearns is headed their way. They claim that, according to Fissler in TRP, Gloucester are prepared to pay £310k pa - 50k more than us, Quins and Falcons. (No mention of Sarries apparently). £300k+? I guess it depends on how each Club values him which is ...

Re: Bring on Sarries! - Teams Up

First time poster and tigers season ticket holder! I think first of all we have to give credit to a sarries team that are at the moment quite exceptional and can see them dominating for a good few years to come. Something I've noticed over the past few years is that we lack intensity for 80 minutes...

Re: Bring on Sarries! - Teams Up

McCall, pre-match said that when they started the Saracens project 7 years ago it was Tigers they most admired. Two things from that: SEVEN years and WAS. We now have a different team every week. McCall seemed genuinely shocked/disappointed by Ashton's decision to leave, "We expect players to finis...

Re: Bring on Sarries! - Teams Up

Credit must go the Sarries coaching staff in my opinion, Hamilton did a job for them and was better than I expected, they seem to get out of him what they want.
Leicester's lineout was excellent against Racing but struggled today.

Re: Bring on Sarries! - Teams Up

Whitecap Tiger How many times has Jim Hamilton been a penalty machine for ANY team he has played for? Saracens' intensity dropped? What happened to the 'production line' then? The much vaunted 'any player can step in and the intensity doesn't drop'? The Wolf Pack? The 'Clone Troopers'? ANY opportun...

Re: Whats the purpose of our Academy

I have met the academy coach of another club. He made some points that stick in my mind. Clubs and academy coaches have to be philosophical and celebrate success wherever the players end up playing. Because even if you have a great prospect it doesn't mean the right opportunity will appear at the r...

Re: Whats the purpose of our Academy

Sorry BFG beg to differ as he grows and fills out he will become a top class hooker and a regular in the England Squad, Where were you last season when filling in for Tom Youngs due to injury he put in some stellar performances for such a young player. I know for a fact that there have been enquiri...
