Re: Only Genge in England squad for Argentina, well done El

Too much time on your hands strawclearer :smt005 Seriously, agree with RB, there is a whole team (including uncapped)worthy of a tour left out. The usual sneerers out in force, please use clairvoyant powers to avoid copying those on my 'foes' list, get enough carp in real life. The world is full of...

Re: Only Genge in England squad for Argentina, well done El

Clearly those in charge are looking to the future and think that other options don't have enough development left in them to improve on the current shirt holders or even to the required standard at all in younger cases and to be honest it would be difficult to disagree with that point of view. I thi...

Re: Lions Squad

Personally I would've had Finn Russell over Dan Biggar. Jonathan Davies has never returned the amount of faith shown in him and IMO is a waste of a place. Also I think down in New Zealand some bigger lungs will be required up front and would've preferred Launchbury and Johnny Gray over AWJ and Lawes...

Re: Team vs Newcastle

All world rugby have done is told referees to be strict on reckless contact with the head/neck. You can still make 'dominant tackles' but you can't make one that slides up from the shoulders to the head. Most penalty sanctions are for scramble tackles coming in from the side at shoulder height but ...

Re: Team vs Newcastle

The game has gone soft kpj! I'm stood today and every other tackle petty folk around me are shouting for a high tackle and I'm just stood thinking when are we going to see some decent rugby, it's constant stoppages with soft penalties, it's getting farcical and IMO officiating has tempered matches ...

Re: Will Saracens win a trophy this season?

I really thought Saracens were going to lose today and what do I know they still managed to bag the win. They picked a much changed team today leaving out several big players from the 23 altogether which IMO is ominous for the rest, they take risks for development, they could afford it today but sti...

Re: Team vs Newcastle

Isn't the point of winding up your opponents to try and get them to give away a penalty? All Genge did was start events that wound up Barrow, and gave Newcastle a penalty which made that 4th try all the more difficult. If I was his coach I wouldn't find giving away needless penalties quite as funny...

Re: Teams up vs Bath

I disagree about a lack of pride in the shirt Ian Cant, I just thought they make too many errors! Veainu was a prime example, absolutely brilliant try by him but can't even give a simple straight pass down the line. They do a lot of good stuff and equally bad stuff. I thought some of the subs were p...

Re: Teams up vs Bath

I'm surprised anyone can make anything of the scrums, the ref had an absolute mare IMO, more chance of seeing jelly set properly in a hot oven!

Re: Toulon axe Ford - Cockerill to take charge!

RC was not a bad DoR to a point. For me, his biggest failing (and that of the board's) was not to admit that he'd reached his ceiling in 2013 and then moved on to allow the club to develop. I don't know Roly, I only know that no-one else stepped up to bridge the gap and RC seemed to find himself ne...

Re: Toulon axe Ford - Cockerill to take charge!

"Mike Ford is the best coach I've ever had"...so says George F in todays DT. Coaches are too often blamed when it's the players fault. I'm not keen on the trend of not giving coaches time to make their mark. Far too much like football. And just because they are a good coach doesn't mean they're a g...

Re: Coach

I don't think there is a single coach around who can claim to be the almighty, they work together and compensate for each others limitations in rugby IMO. Deano is probably one of the best known reputations for building productive teams of developing coaches and players. The best team at present are...
