Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD

There is a lot to be learned from a player like AWJ. He is far from being the most talented player that you'll ever see but neither was Johnson and it's said that he was a great leader and presence to have. Could be the kind of presence and attitude that has been missing since the undermining of Coc...

Re: Not a happy place like the Ricoh!

As a teenager I went to trials for the old YTS for CCFC and have a friend who's Coventry born and bred son is currently on the books and now has to play for his hometown club in another City. It's all about the money with speculative owners and all very sad for the community and supporters. Coventry...

Re: 2019 World U20s

I thought the England U20's were really lucky to get a result against Italy who themselves wasted a bucket load of chances. I wouldn't pay in chocolate coins to watch these names and the way it is going the game will be totally full of them. With all of the successful development coaches now having ...

Re: Sir Barnes

I too think Wayne Barnes is the best around but something has perplexed me since I saw him on Rugby Tonight a few weeks ago in the week before he was officiating in a match at WR. He was asked about the crowd at WR and his approach to the match given we have such a large and vocal support. I think ...

Re: Why is he not part of our set up????

If you find my postings negative then please do not read them its really that simple. I shall carry on posting what I deem fit and if that does not suit your agenda, your vain attempts to physco analyse and pidgeon hole them, so be it. You may misunderstand me, I am not suggesting that you are nega...

Re: Why is he not part of our set up????

Well this beggars the billion dollar question as who within the club decided to recruit and retain players that cant catch, tackle, pass or drift out of position and apparently this lack of basic rugby skills cannot be rectified by our coaches? I'll have a little go at trying to answer your questio...

Re: Why is he not part of our set up????

The fact that last season was not a one off, hardly inspires supporters. The rot set in some four to five years ago, so it is hardly surprising there are so many doubters among supporters. This rot has been left unchecked and allowed to worsen, with the BOD making abysmal decisions which have fanne...

Re: Why is he not part of our set up????

The coaches may have had their input but if the players cant catch, tackle, pass or drift out of position this is not a coaches fault. Win as a team and lose as a team and take collective responsibility. Well this beggars the billion dollar question as who within the club decided to recruit and ret...

Re: Why is he not part of our set up????

I don't think you can blame the crowd, even though its been a terrible season whenever I've been there it's been rocking. It's gonna go quiet when we are getting trounced that's understandable but to blame the crowd is a copout imo. If anything our fans have been overly patient (talking matchday not...

Re: Why is he not part of our set up????

Stick with the coaches in place and I don't expect anything different next season! Only time will tell but I think it important that the crowd does its bit in trying to make WR a fortress and is after getting on the backs of the opposition rather than their own team so easily. If it remains not goo...

Re: Why is he not part of our set up????

I'd stick with the coaches in place. The general consensus on here when Thacker was playing was that he was the more reliable line out thrower, but that did also go wrong late in matches with missed opportunities when the pressure was higher. I can still see them now, Thacker would come on and the l...

U20s old boys sons and independent school side?
There were a few recognisable names.
The England U20 skipper is a former Scotland U16/18 player.
It doesn't leave much room for the rest of the country!

Re: David Mele to return to Tigers?

Instead of having the same ideological argument over and over how about this- what are we looking for in a very junior level coach, and which specifically does Mélé not have? He was a really good player on his day with a couple of medals to show and if he's willing to swap the French seaside for th...

Mark you being are a drama :smt061 toward me IMO as I clearly stated that the Nowelll incident "REMINDED ME A LITTLE" and that's not a comparison. Maybe there is a secret attraction... :smt047 You remind me a little of the time that I had a few too many and accidentally fell over a wall and landed o...

Just turned 21 in April.

He's a quick lad for a forward of his size, and did play wing before being moved.

Shows his speed here.
Intriguing that one name that came to me on viewing was Tipuric!
