Re: Sinckler banned for 7 weeks

It is a shame that the apology was not directed at the player he pulled the scrum cap off and then went back for afters with. He seemed to apologies to everyone except the wronged person. This suggests any remorse is not genuine and sportsmanship is lacking. I like Sinckler and hope he settled down....

Re: Telusa Veainu!!

Telusa shared a house with Locky, featured on a BT Sport programme on the Tigers. Having a mate removed from the club, even if they get a good job back home which is a step up due to his performances at Tigers, is disruptive. Business can be looked at as a financial transaction and a Head Coach need...

Re: Are the Lions together as a squad?

I listened to another game on Talk sport and they had one of the Irish players talking. I also listened to Irish radio commentary and they had no players on. I think this is a contractual agreement for a non-playing player to be nominated to be part of the commentary team. Similar to non-playing Tig...

Re: Leicester Tigers 2016/17 Squad/Transfers/Contract thread

I heard recently an interview on the Rugby Dungeon podcast archive, I think it was the one with Jamie Gibson, where tactics for the breakdown were discussed. It was suggested that if a player was interfering at the breakdown and jackling the ball as the second man in the best thing for the oppositio...

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non Tigers 2016/17

On paper Gloucester have a good squad already. On the pitch it seems to be a more variable matter. Good signing but they need to play better for it to make any difference. Sounds familiar for several teams currently. I hope it is in the past for Tigers now :smt027

Re: Next match- Coventry v Tigers

Speed at the breakdown and straight running are wonderful things. Once the Wasp tacklers were knocked back and our support players were quicker we looked good. Running round the corner and taking the ball moving for the first time in a while. I would add Brady to the list of those getting stuck in. ...

Re: The Tigers business model

For the my first thread I had ever started I thought it had not gone too badly :smt022

A bit overtaken by events. I will look at the piece and comment further.

Thanks for giving this another push. Performance is important but the soul of the club is too. Can we have both?

Re: Teams up v Saracens

I was at the game today on the Crumbie Terrace. It did go a bit quiet after their try but the noise came back in the last 10 mins. I thought JP had a poor match. First off side penalty was in the 2nd half against Tigers - really! Wolf pack = off side. Even at the kick offs and penalties. McCaffey of...

Re: Player Development.

BFG makes a good point regarding the quality of the "opposition" during squad training. If you have real depth of quality squad players your opposition in training can be an effective opposition comparable to the opposition in matches. A team needs a good defence against their rolling maul to train ...

Re: Good tackle now illegal?

Hi, Lifting a leg to take the weight off it so you can more easily drive the play back is ok as long as the legs do not go over the horizontal and above the players waist. The problem is the tackling player keeping in control of the tackled player. If other players knock one or both of them off bala...

The Tigers business model

This is being discussed as a side line in several threads but I think it warrants one on its own as it is not just down to the CEO, DoR or even the board totally. A fan owned PLC with no Sugar Daddy seems to be the holy grail of business models for fans, if the income is sufficient to allow financin...

Re: High tackles

Yes,ducking into a tackle or accidentally slipping seems to be a grey area currently and this will make it a "yellow" area. It goes back to intent of the player. Hard fast hits that can miss the chest and swinging arms once a defender has been stepped will become very risky. This may lead to a more ...

Re: Is it now time to thank Cockers?

I really do not know what to think about Saturdays performance. I was due to be in Ireland on Friday and was going to stay over for the match. As it was domestic arrangements deemed I changed my plans and went over and back on Tuesday. I am glad it turned out that way as it would have been a waste o...
