Re: Line out cheating

Thanks for the offer but I will carry on watching Rugby, the the ref should say no and award a free kick to the opposition problem solved, it need not become a penalty fest, that is the point of a penalty, to deter offending as well as punishing the offence.

Re: Tackle in the air

Malouf to the letter of the law should have been carded but was saved by the partially sighted man with the whistle with his inconsistent incompetence, but that is another thread! Not at all. The player landed on one foot but was unbalanced and fell on to his back. Had he landed on his back directl...

Re: Line out cheating

My understanding is that the ball must go down the channel between the two lines. Once the lines form the mark is no longer the critical point and the ball can come in from any point between them. Being a meter apart makes it easier for the hooker to step towards his siderite give an advantage. All...

Line out cheating

Am I alone in noticing a tactic that is becoming more pronounced, namely the hooker shuffling along the touchline until he is lined up with his own payers. The ball should be thrown in at the mark where the ball went out of play, then the players form up at 90 deg to the touchline 1 mtr either side ...

Re: Tackle in the air

It is a bit of a nonsense to me, I recall Alesana Tuilagi was cited and banned for raising his knee while being tackled during the word cup as it was judged dangerous, but a player jumping full tilt with a raised forward knee is given a penalty if he contacts one of the opposition! explain that in a...

Re: Tackle in the air

Most are missing the point, why is the player jumping in the first place, they are putting themselves in danger by doing so and the law rewards them for this recklessness! Assuming the player is positioned to catch, he should get the ball if their nerve holds, we all used to applaud the bravery of t...

Roly is why the ignore list was invented, OK I made that up.
But I do wish there was a way of preventing seeing his posts second hand!

Re: Ryan - no HIA??

Watching on the TV live it was surprising that no HIA was recommended by the TMO, I thought after the George North incident the medical staff has someone to watch the TV feed to see stuff like this. Also the players who were shepherding him to position in the scrum should have has the nuts to have a...

Re: A wish for just one player

On current form we could wish for and get any 15 top players from the Premiership and still get stuffed, we already have the players we just do not have the gumption, and that comes from the top, the board were not happy when RC was winning stuff as it was not Champagne rugby! Now we are playing sta...

Re: The BBC - a continued failure

In reply to Noddy, workers were never bothered with Rugby, an interesting fact is that Association Football rules were drawn up specifically because landowners and factory owners were concerned that too many of their workers were being incapacitated due to broken legs and ankles when playing footbal...

West "not popular with senior players" Shock horror! Not popular with anyone, is the more accurate observation.

Re: Message for George Ford.

The excellent development of Williams and Burns should also be viewed against a very disrupted midfield for a couple of seasons, I am not sure how GF would have coped with that.
Great player that GF is he will have big boots to fill next season, I wish him every success.

Re: JPP

I have been a little underwhelmed by JPP, he is good but seems to be doing everything at 80%, OK so 80% of classic JPP should be enough but there seems to be a little reluctance in everything he does. He is still a very good player but maybe reaching the end of the journey, if the hunger is only for...

Re: Aaron Mauger rumour

I have every respect for Aaron Mauger as a player but his coaching credentials were more on hope than his record, his appointment destabilised the coaching team at Tigers and the style he wanted was good for sunny days when all your best players were available and on form but for a dreary away trip ...
