Well done Joe Ford!!

I think after all the stick Joe Ford has recieved on here for the past couple of seasons he deserves a hearty thank you for his stint on Saturday. He has had the uneviable task of playing in a sticking plaster back line with a powder puff pack going backwards for most games he has played in so has n...

Re: What gets your goat in the rugby of today?

Not policing the offside line at the breakdown, this drives me mad, it spoils the game as a spectacle as it reduces the available space, it is what the touch judges used to do, you never see a touch judge waving his flag for offside anymore, now the whole defensive line creeps upoffside as if, as th...

Re: Dan Cole

I think Dan Cole has played too much rugby over the past few seasons, we have overplayed him and England have overplayed him the guy deserves a period to recharge and both Tiger and England need to give him back up. Playing the toughest possition on the pitch for 80 minutes each game he plays has go...

Re: George Clancy

it would be great if someday we could watch the ref reviewing the replay and have them explain why they did what they did. It will never happen but I can wish It does, every Monday usually at twickenham but only with the ref, his advisors and those that know the game better than most. His decisions...

Re: This rings true for us too...

It seems Tigers have confused Tigers the business and Tigers the sports team. To my mind there should be a CEO purely charge of the business, responsible for revenue development and budgeting. A strong DOR in charge of the all things rugby, with a team manager, coaches, and a development manager in ...

Re: George Clancy

When Clancy gave that scrum penalty against tigers for collapsing before the ball was even put in, it was one of the best ref jokes for a long time, if a ref does not care about the rules but just wings it like Owens the week before we fans are entitled to express our bewilderment. It will not chang...

Re: Lineout

On a serious note, the reason we lost a few was that they were able to jump into out jumper, knocking him out of the way, this suggests our line out jumpers are not solid-strong enough and that we are predictable so easy to defend against

Lineout

One good thing, the only good thing from the Sunday’s debacle, Tom Youngs is not the (sole) source of our line out woes.
Which, strangely I am rather glad about.
In dark times you have to take it where you can get it, pleasure that is!

Re: Genge in the Telegraph

Of course he's going to leave. He's already said he wants to go back to Bristol one day. Was thinking sooner rather than later. When he talked about going back to Bristol it was in relation of going to Bristol instead of France/Japan when most players get older. Can't blame him when all he and his ...

Re: Tigers' decline

To the board and club servants it is so much more than a disappointing few hours every weekend, they have all invested much more heavily, in time, money and reputation and so will suffer more as a result, anyone who thinks the board are not fully aware of our frustrations and disappointment is delud...

A new owner may ensure the salary cap is adhered too to make a level playing field that is the only plus as far as I can see!

Re: Matt Papali’i

It is not Matt's fault we have Joe Ford as back up 10, that all comes down to signing his brother George, prior to that we we had two good 10's, after that signing we had one good and one poor, MT was papering over this error in our recruiting, the fact he was better that Joe Ford is irrelevant, alm...

Re: Toomua Call Up - Cake and Eat IT

I am pretty certain IRB rules do not permit contracts that prevent a player turning out for his country if selected. A well wrtten contract would not prevent a player playing for his country, but a player signed as an ex-international on marquee wages should expect a reduction in that wage pro-rata...

Re: Toomua Call Up - Cake and Eat IT

The problem is a poor contract in the first place, I cannot blame the player the contract offered should have foreseen this possibility with an appropriate penalty for making himself available for Australia, then we would all see the cost for the player, but having his cake and eating it is an appro...

Re: A fair analysis?

The fall began when we were winning and many on here said it was boring and we want more excitement, the board must have thought so to, so they said lets not focus all our spending on forwards but on some shiny new go faster backs! As always be careful what you wish for. Mauger was not a mistake as ...
