Re: Marler seeking psychological help

Sorry but do Hairyqueens not employ sports psychologist already to help channel aggression in the right direction? I assumed all the top teams would. Slightly off topic but the reduction in his ban for kicking an opponent in the head does not make any sense to me, he was allegedly subject to 'the fo...

Re: salary cap cheats

The RFU are guardians of the good name of Rugby Union, ( I know, I know but in theory OK) The RFU could have instigated a charge of bringing the game into disrepute against Premiership Rugby, or at least threatened it for the perceived connivance in covering up industrial scale cheating. Small infra...

Re: Club Rugby

Rugby has allowed itself to become the plaything of the megga rich, just like football, Sarries much trumpeted youth policy has never come under objective scrutiny. How are they able to attract such a depth of young talent, is it just good scouting or is the cheque book being waved about at this ear...

Re: Tigers v Stade Team.

I'm not convinced either Cole or Ayerza are anywhere near their best. I don't know if it's simply a drop in form, or because they're past their sell-by-date. Could be a bit of both, probably more the latter. I'm not entirely sure that Thacker isn't 1st choice hooker now either, he'd certainly give O...

Re: Tigers v Stade Team.

A great game, Nigel was on our case all game and allowed them much greater leniency than us, a good ref none the less.
Was it just me or did he sound like he got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning?

Re: This weekends other games

[quotIt baffles me what game you are watching Ellis. For the first try Farrell runs a lovely blindside line in a switch with Ashton, takes a double tackle from Joseph and Aguilla and offloads in the tackle out the back of his right hand to Bosch. its superb and directly leads directly to the try. Fo...

Re: SuperDry Tigers

Retro Deano shirt, would it have a rugby ball sewn up the front, they would have to double the amount of material and the cost would be astronomical.

Re: Flankers

My point about Thacker, I was under the impression he was on the books as Flanker / Hooker, with the behemoths inhabiting the front row nowadays he cannot play hooker without compromising the whole scrum. I have never seen him play flanker but being too small to play no6 or 8 that leaves No7, but No...

Why do we not value out and out No 7s both in the club and in England, Neil Back, even he struggled to get established if he had been a lesser player he would not have survived, back then England were picking a massive back row, Teauge, Skinner, Richards. Strangely we had Kronfeld and Back on our bo...

Re: Just when you thought England players couldnt do worse .

It should be remembered that SL started off by comparing his squeaky clean ethos with the previous regime. Many of us on here found that pretty nauseating as some thought MJ took unfair stick for doing a reasonable job while learning the ropes, that he resigned was more of a result of the firestorm ...

Re: Can we please see our own salary cap announcement like t

The Elephant in the room is the RFU, they are technically supposed to be running the game in England, all competitions are run under the auspices of the RFU, so if certain individuals are saying we will buy the title by finding dubious ways around the mutually agreed salary cap and will respond to a...

Re: As we suspected, you can smell it from here....

The regulation regarding the salary cap is a voluntary regulation, ie the clubs have opted to play under it, it is the same as having 15 players on the park, clubs who play under the Union regulation have opted into that rule, for any club to suddenly decide that they are rich enough to afford to ha...

Re: As we suspected, you can smell it from here....

Everyone keeps saying the cap is impossible to police, but the inquiry obviously turned up enough evidence that it had to be kicked into the long grass to avoid the bad publicity. In a normal sport the committee that took this decision could not avoid a charge of bringing the game into disrepute. De...

Re: Steve Walsh Retires!

Steve Walsh improved markedly in the last few games I saw him referee, all referees are flawed as far as the fans are concerned and his earlier performances were dire but he had improved a lot so it will be a loss to the game.

Re: Reffing this weekend - reflections

The early not straight throws were contested but after J P decided it was OK Tigers then started not to compete, a very clever response in my opinion.
But the lineout is supposed to be a contest JP Doyle decided he did not want a fair contest, which I think is totally wrong for such blatant cheating,
