Re: 20th Feb 2021 - Home vs Wasps
There is absolutely no argument in the laws of the game for Hanro staying on the pitch. If you're making one, it's through green, white and red-coloured spectacles. Agreed. CMK had a great game. As did we :smt030 :smt030 :smt023 I think Henry had a pretty good game, I don't know how good he is/will...

Re: Sort the tackle area out, please!
What is illegal is the latched on players going to ground on top of the ball carrier when a tackle is made - they have a duty to stay on their feet and form a ruck. The other big issue is the first players from the ball carrier's side dropping to 1 knee on arrival at the tackle or placing their han...

Re: Sort the tackle area out, please!
Sounds like a mess to be honest. And I am not sure how it should be sorted.
I think we all accept that if you don't look after the ball you deserved to be turned over. So interceptions, rips, when a carrier is isolated when tackled and support is slow. But maybe that is as far as it should go?

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE V: Borthwick Strikes Back
Why should Tigers develop a player from early school days through to senior level because Ganny was Irish, English or whatever only to lose them. Well, we could choose not to. Seems pretty easy to look at heritage and talk to the player about what they might do should the situation arise. Both side...

England have a similar rule do they not?
Why are people having a pop at the Welsh over this?

Well the WRU have to look after their own as does everyone else.
Of course, as someone said, it may mean that English clubs now stop taking in young players that are Welsh qualified and won't agree to not take up that allegiance. Which may or may not have been considered by the WRU.

Re: Sort the tackle area out, please!
How does latching/pods work with the laws? That is to say these pick and drives, where one or more players other than the ball carrier are already together going into the tackle. Have they formed a ruck pre-tackle or is it a rolling maul or nothing? And does that negate the possibility of competitio...

Re: Ringfencing NOW upon us ?
There needs to be a path into the elite/professional game and a path of progression for players, clubs, countries. And the more meritocratic the better, By the same token there has to be a degree of realism and an understanding that elite and professional sport is to a large extent a controlled and ...

Re: Ringfencing NOW upon us ?
As pointed out a couple of times in the thread it's really not as actually there doesn't look to be one that is in any fit shape to compete (Sarries aside of course).Dangerous4 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 13, 2021 2:18 pmI just don't like the idea of ringfencing. It will exremely unfair to some of the top Championship sides.

Re: Ringfencing NOW upon us ?
Never say never, but this could be me done with watching the Premiership. This may affect my passion for top level club rugby, time will tell. I had Gloucester versus Bristol on last night but I took little notice, it just wasn't as important. Todays Leicester fixture with Quins has lost its edge. ...

Think people are being harsh on Henry. Others have made as many mistakes today.
