Re: Ant Allen

Allen is a top player and it just shows what Tigers have been missing. DT - back three of Tait, Goneva and Benjamin when Manu is back will scare a lot of teams. Goneva at 13 is really struggling at the moment. As the tigers are at home next week he gets the shirt, however I'll be biting my nails whe...

Re: First EPS of 2014

Will S - I agree with you. There is no need to rush Tait at this stage and it is simple to promote from within the Saxons set up. I would hope Tait gets an opportunity on the summer tour should he stay fit (fingers crossed). Having said all that, I'd be tempted to fling him in at FB during the 6 - n...

Re: First EPS of 2014

"How much have you seen of Goode in the last three weeks? He's been very good as well, and I'm not sure what Tait has done in that time to show that he offers much more as an out-and-out fullback" Statistics only tell part of the story. Goode has performed pretty well over the last couple ...

Re: First EPS of 2014

I expect we will see Alex Goode picked to cover Brown at FB, It baffles me how Goode is still in Lancasters plans. Based on the evidense from the last three weeks Tait offers much more.

Re: Leicester v Bath

I don't think Cockers had any other realistic option other than to start with Williams at 10 and Flood at 12. Sensible in the long term to give AA another week in training. Flood offers far more than Smith in attack and defence IMO. If Williams struggles with the expectation of running the show in s...

Re: Leicester v Bath

If Bowden is out then Flood has to start at 12 with Williams at 10. This combination will surely give us the best option to unlock a quality Bath side, providing our forwards win the battle up front. Selecting Smith at 12 would be very negative and there would be little chance of seeing our backline...

Re: England V's Argentina

Personally, I would not have Wade any where near the 1st XV. He is a liability defensively. Foden would get my vote on the wing a head of Ashton with Yarde on taking his place on the other side.

At least we have the likes of Goode on the bench to add impact :smt005

Re: England vs Australia

Must be the slowest side in International Rugby. Take out Yarde & Ashton and Eng look so one dimensional.
Tomkins is struggling for form and can't make it into Saracens 1st team, yet he starts for Eng. Tomkins is totally out of his depth at this level!

Re: Tigers v Treviso

The last update on Tait was some 3-4 weeks ago when RC stated that he was 2-4 weeks away from being fit. Based on this information Tait may be available this weekend. As far as the back row goes lets pick players in their rightful positions. I know we are struggling with injuries but Slater is not a...

Re: Injury news

What is the latest news on Tait's fitness and when is he likely to be back in action? According the the Mercury back in Aug he travelled to France for the opening friendly and hoped to participate in that game. If that was the case why has he still not featured - set back recovering from ankle surge...

Re: 2013/14 season

Surely Leicester and England have some sort of understanding come the AI window in terms of the Saxons and player allocation. I would assume Leicester will only lose a couple of players to the saxons match day squad during the 3 week window. Great to see Tait is back on the radar. He is in an ideal ...

Re: British and Irish Lions tour

Initially I gave S Lancaster the benefit of the doubt regarding some of his selections, but as time goes by he seems to be opting for players (ex R. league) who can't do the basics right or players who he has previously championed and wants to advance through the ranks regardless of form in some cas...

Re: British and Irish Lions tour

Looks like R Kearney is struggling with a grade 1 hamstring tare. Apparently he will be given some time to recover, but failing to do so will mean a likely call up for Brown according to the Daily Mail. Just goes to show that very average players can sometimes get to wear the Lions red jersey. M Bro...

Re: Build up to the Premiership final

How is the weather forecast looking for Sat? Fingers crossed its dry. On a personal level I'm looking forward to a couple of head to heads: - T Younges vs Hartley - A convincing performance here could result in a starting Lions birth. Tait vs Foden - A lot will depend on the first 15 mins, Tait is a...

Re: Withdrawals from England

I'd like to think the reasoning behind Tait not being called up due Goode & Tomkins dropping out is to give him a summer off. Long term having this summer off will do Tait more good than going to Arg. If Tait can stay fit (fingers crossed) he will continue to improve for Tigers and surely Lancas...
