Re: International Eligibility

For me, the passport idea is a total non-starter - there is not a separate passport for Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales and I am sure that the Northern Irish lads would still want to play for the united Irish team rather than become a tier 2 or 3 nation. Neither is the grandparent thing - get r...

I don’t think anyone thought we’d win this- away to the team 2nd in the league. We negated their strengths really well and won. With a shed load of players missing. Bit surprised to read the negative comments

Re: Warren Gatland's idea's for the game

Surely though, if we want to make the game more open and less about who kicks the most metres, aren't we missing a really simple solution that would also save costs and make the club game more sustainable? Have fewer players on the pitch... Get rid of flankers, have 6 man scrums, more gaps on the f...

Re: Innovation or return of the good old days

I realise that. But, in Paris yesterday, you could see its development. Ruck collapses into a messy heap (as always) ball recycled and Joe Heyes and others stand with arms poised to instantly bind on. So, no pre-bind but as soon as, so making little practical difference. Yes and no. There is a big ...

Re: 23/24 Injury/Suspension/Absent International List

If it was an attempted tackle I’d accept the fact that both were very low as mitigation, but I can see any evidence of arms. Should have been checked at least.

You can have a couple too :smt015 :smt015
Even better, let’s return to muddy, error strewn 9-6 matches

Re: RWC 2023 Fixtures and results

I think tonight is another example of why you take the points in knockout rugby. Even a single 3 pointer changes that final play. Yep, I think Sexton missed two straightforward kicks, and turned down four. Ok, they got tries from two of them, but that’s the difference between winning and losing. Co...

I’d have him back too. On another note, I thought Dickson reffed that well.

Re: RFU to take control of 20 England players with ‘hybrid contracts’

The point re the rules of the game being confusing for the non enthusiast. I haven’t checked recently but there used to be over 100 laws relating to the lineout alone. One of the best known facts is that the ball cannot be knocked forward yet this World Cup we have had tries scored after the ball h...

Re: Rugby World Cup warm up games

Not a Farrell fan but I just can't understand how an organisation can be permitted to appeal its own adjudication. It's one thing to overule a decision by a national panel but not your own! Technically, the original panel was a Six Nations panel, as they are running the warm up series. So WR were c...

Re: Rugby World Cup warm up games

From the telegraph

The England captain has received a six-match ban, reduced to four on mitigation due to “the player’s acceptance of foul play, clear demonstration of remorse and his good character”

Not sure I agree with that
