These players usually don't need much in terms of wage and can turn out to be great players so it is worth the risk.
Bit uncomfortable with the tone of that. Smacks a little bit of colonialism. Let's go and grab a couple of peasant islanders, we can pay them peanuts and bin em if they're no good

Re: Geordie up before the beak...three week ban!

Maxwell-Keys did somewhat institgate the incident by probably not answering Murphy’s (probably initially polite) interrogation and walking away, just proves the incompetence. Read the report again. Murphy came on strong, possibly in the heat of the recent moment. CMK appeared to realise this by say...

Re: New coaching structure?

Allen joins Coventry as defence coach Can understand that AA wants more responsibility and experience, but seems a shame to lose him as he seems to be a bright coaching prospect. No, I think its a good idea. Gain experience and be exposed to new ideas, then come back to Tigers to put them into prac...

Re: New coaching structure?

Murphy to DoR, I don't get it. Much as I like him as a player, I would say he was a failure as a skills coach- so promote him to Head Coach? He's been statistically a failure as Head Coach, so promote him to DoR???. When he fails there, where next? Chairman? It makes no sense

Re: Toomua

It calls into question the whole point of having highly paid foreign internationals. Off the top of my head, I can't recall that many who have been that great, not in modern times anyway

Re: Sean Edwards

I'd have him in a heartbeat. Proven international pedigree, has got a team to over perform, look at Wales defense this 6N, they won the slam, despite not looking like world beaters.

Re: ARE THERE ANY LAWS IN THE GAME THAT YOU WOULD CHANGE?

Having feet on the ground if you are catching the ball. Gets rid of the silly 'duty of care' when a player is in the air.
A rule that says if the ball is playable at the scrum, it should be played and no penalty should ensue. Unless a scrum collapse prevents a try.

Re: Manu to Racing 92? No! - Re-signed for Tigers!!!

Pleased , but also Mixed feelings . We will still have the problem next Season that a very large proportion of the wage cap will be spent on players who are only playing a relatively small number of games for Tigers . Seems stupid to run a Business where your major Salary earners do not turn up to ...

There's always exceptions to the rule. But Thorne did one season, Matfield blew hot and cold. I wouldn't say either was a long term success

Re: Kieran Reid

I'd prefer the young and hungry, not the old and tired. He's won everything in the game, can't see the adrenalin flowing for him for club matches. Dan Carter hasn't exactly hit the heights, neither has Nonu. Rugby is a game where you put your body on the line, with the best will in the world that's ...

Re: Scarlets and Ospreys

Many Swansea supporters never made the switch from St Helens to the Liberty and even fewer from Neath. However Ospreys have been the most successful Welsh team and it must take a special brand of Old Fart to sacrifice them for the gamble of creating a viable rugby team in North Wales. From my point...
