Re: Saracens Cap Investigation / Grounds for Appeal

To be fair, I think the only person who has suggested they might is Eddie Jones. Can they do that, though? I thought there would be rules in place to stop that.

Re: Borthwick

Would Murphy, as DoR, be on the panel interviewing Borthwick? Be interesting if that's the case.

"So, how would you return the team to winning ways?"
"Well, I'd have to ditch most of the ideas of my predecessor - ah, oops, Sorry"

The rule in your last sentence didn’t stop Mike Ford poaching George for Bath.
You say poaching, but Fordy didn't want to leave, I say poor retention negotiations and stubbornness by the board lost us Fordy to Bath!
Please don't start this one again!!!!!!

I thought that the introduction of Kalamafoni and Gigena/Leatagiga made a big difference and gave us a lot more go forward.
And Harrison too, and Hardwick. Makes you wonder why they didn't start. White was very tentative around the ruck

Re: Wales v SA

Interesting how so many people rate Faf de Klerk so highly and as one of the worlds best even though he takes a few steps before passing and kicks loads yet when Youngs does it, he is apparently too slow and kicks too much. Was thinking the same his box kicking has been average at best. Great line ...

Re: Wales v SA

Brutal and attritional, but the quality of the passing not on par with England or the All Blacks. Not much ambition from either side. If England can keep their game up to yesterday's standard they should win.

Re: ITV coverage of WC

I'm fine with the live coverage, it's very good. Just a bit surprised there's no prime time coverage or previews to get more interest from non rugby people. I'm sure there was a bit more hype in 2003. We're in the final, for heavens sake, and loads of people arn't aware of it.

ITV coverage of WC

Bit surprised by the lack of highlights. On ITV4 at 7, ITV at way past midnight. No preview shows at all. This was a World Cup semi final! Presume they've paid a fair bit for the coverage, surprised they're not making more of it. I know it's live at a difficult time, but they havn't really made much...

Re: Forward passes

I think you're second point is probably the most correct. Problem with that approach is that a pass can set up a field position which leads to a try a good few phases later, too late to be checked. I can live with marginal calls, benefit of doubt, but some of these are clear.

Re: ENG vs NZ - RWC Semi

It was touch and go for Lennys try, but was there conclusive proof to overturn the on field decision of try. Thought on the whole Nigel had a very good game, can see him being given the final and Wayne getting the 3rd/4th playoff Replayed, very clear that a NZ hand struck the ball from George's han...

Re: ENG vs NZ - RWC Semi

Agree with this. Compare the mosh mash of a team last World Cup, with players shoe horned into positions, this is light years ahead.
Would love to see an England Wales final, but the possibility of losing it is horrific to behold.

Re: Forward passes

Even the commentators noticed some of the AB forward passes. I lost count. It's getting a bit like the way crooked feeds were ignored for so long they seem now to be an accepted part of the game

Re: Forward passes

Welsh game yesterday, when the Welsh player, forget who it was, flipped it to AWJ, his pass to the next player was way forward.
Commentary went into raptures about the flip pass, totally ignored to forward one

Forward passes

I know it has been discussed on here before, but would people agree it's getting worse? Every World Cup game I've seen features a few, ignored by both ref and commentators. I'm not talking about the old momentum debate we had on here, but balls which are blatantly forward.
