Re: New Job for Cohen????
'George Ford has a hell of a way to go to better Freddie Burns' Brian Moore Full Contact, Episode 16 We will see who was right and who was wrong by this time next year but by then it may well be too late! With Ford's recent kicking form, Bath must be rubbing their hands with glee to get somebody li...

Re: We were all going to Twickenham until ....
I'm only talking about the time from when we stole their line out in the final few minutes of the game. Which bit of that sentence do you not understand? If you concede points just before half time there is ample time for you to catch up. Conceding points which lose you the game, just minutes from ...

Re: We were all going to Twickenham until ....
I'm only talking about the time from when we stole their line out in the final few minutes of the game. That was the crucial bit when they scored a try that we should never have given them the chance to.

We were all going to Twickenham until ....
We stole their line out - great. Should have been game over. Stuff the ball up the jumper time or send it 80 yards down the field and make them run it in from there. Harrison took his eye off the ball, literally, began appealing to the ref with his arms outstretched (presumably trying to milk a pena...

Re: New Job for Cohen????
Totally agree. Not sure who are the real "Alan Sugaresque" types in the Board Room but their style is certainly not one I support and it is not a culture which I want to be a part of. Like trendylfj, I am not going into the pros and cons of why such decisions have been made, but the manner...

If I were Northampton I would be trying to get hold of Aaron Mauger's phone number.

Re: Why didn't The Board wait til Tigers had full strength t
I think the Board have acted abominably and with unwarranted arrogance. This is not a recent problem either. How they can hold their heads up and collect their salaries is beyond my understanding. Straight out of the Alan Sugar 'bull in a china shop' school of man management. I also think that Aaron...

I used to use that excuse every time I took my school report home and faced my parents. It didn't work as an excuse then and it still doesn't.GS wrote:Sounds like 'as long as there's somebody worse that us we're doing OK'.

Re: Words to describe tonight's performance
Frankly - words fail me (well not really but too naughty to post here). Utterly awful performance. Mauger described the loss at Munster as "embarrassing" so how will he describe this one? Must be "embarrassing squared". The team have a few weeks to pick themselves up and improve ...

Re: JP Doyle
Yeh - I thought it was a bit odd he was the ref as soon as the game started. Not sure on the rules though but there surely must be enough European refs to go around to avoid the appearance of favourtism, however unlikely.tigercaspian wrote:I was thinking the same before the (very obvious) red card.....

Re: Bath blocks Ford exit
Maybe a contract lawyer out there can clarify but in my experience the "restriction of trade" rules come into force when firms try to insist on confidentiality agreements and hint at blocking an employee's move to a competitor. In reality these clauses are largely impotent posturing becaus...

Re: Cockerill to England Coaching Staff?
Assuming you have some privileged information and the ear of the man himself and his family, it is worth pointing out that he has already 'done' France. Never say never. England may call but don't forget Scotland, Wales, Ireland or Italy. None of those sides has a bedded-in coaching staff.

Cockerill to England Coaching Staff?
As reported by BBC. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/38503190 Now that would be a poke in the eye for those who sacked him if it comes to pass. I can quite see how Jones, being the successful maverick he is, would be quite happy to have another successful maverick in the camp. Cockerill's trac...

Re: DOR aspirants, then?
Wrong decision to sack Cockerill but it's happened so the man they now need to go after is Rob Baxter. In what kind of parallel universe does anybody think that Rob Baxter would even consider letting down, let alone leave, his personally picked, highly entertaining, really quite successful side whi...

Leicester and Northampton - have they lost their mojo?
Austin Healey expressing his thoughts in today's Daily Telegraph, some of which we may or may not agree with, but sometimes these things need to be said out loud.
