Re: Tigers vs Gloucester (H) - Premiership - Friday 22nd March 2024 - KO:19.45

[broken record.....] we need to go full beans for this and the other games. It's not like the 6 Nations was back-to-back-to-back, there were breaks in between. Yes, there will be bumps and bruises but just manage the training workload and get them ready for Friday. The only one I would say may not m...

Re: Tigers v Gloucester - Premiership Cup Final - Friday 15th March 2024 - KO:7-45pm

We looked fine but with 13 men it’s very difficult. Agree about the yellows. The first one seemed to come out of the blue - I think that was the 3rd penalty ? I don’t think the ref was great in terms of comms to the players. I like Theobald-Thomas he’s more angry than Mike Brown ! I must admit it wa...

Re: Tigers v Gloucester - Premiership Cup Final - Friday 15th March 2024 - KO:7-45pm

Glos fans around us were furious with their 9 & 10 in the first half, so much kicking. We handed that to Gloucester no question, discipline killed us and gave them a lift. Even after going so far behind we had driving lineout chances, but coughed the ball up. Agree about comments on Kelly, what’...

Re: Tigers v Gloucester - Premiership Cup Final - Friday 15th March 2024 - KO:7-45pm

Usual overreaction on here I see. We started playing because we had to, it was desperate at that point with 10 mins to go. Discipline was poor and 2 x yellow cards = 2 tries and that was the game. Simple as that. First half was dull but we easily dealt with what they threw at us. Give them a sniff a...

Re: Tigers v Gloucester - Premiership Cup Final - Friday 15th March 2024 - KO:7-45pm

Interesting selections really:we have Cole, Steward, Martin, Chessum away with England and knowing our luck all of this quartet not be available next week. Then JVP, Watson, Cronin, Henderson, maybe Dolly, Clare out injured and Youngs fit but can’t play due to rules! Gloucester: Balmain, Atkinson( ...

Re: Tigers v Gloucester - Premiership Cup Final - Friday 15th March 2024 - KO:7-45pm

I’ll be there and it will be interesting to see how both teams react. It’s a weird one as you’d normally go into a game like this off the back of a run of games, but it almost has an opening game of the season feel about it. It’s been raining all night here in Gloucester and more rain tomorrow so ba...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Fissler's sources with Tigers have changed but not in the way you think. Steve and the club used to take prospective players or coaches to the Costa Coffee in Oadby for a debrief after they had visited Oval Park. Only problem with that is there used to be someone working at the Costa who knew their...

Re: 2024 Six Nations Chat

Taking Ireland as an example, the total weight of the starting packs...England are 20kg+ heavier.

Re: 2024 Six Nations Chat

It's quite sad to see that the media and fan narrative seems to have filtered through to the coaching staff, where we have to change the way that we play to be successful. As a pundit (can't remember who) said earlier in the week, England's strength has always been big forwards, functional set piece...

The younger lads would rather be in an area where there's stuff going on though.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - Crocodile McKeller: Men at Work

A while ago now (1980s) but I lived in a bedsit in Stoneygate, then on the Uppingham Road and ended up in South Wigston, so I saw all sides of the city ! Now live near Gloucester. If you take Leicester as an example, don't most of the players live out in the sticks in rural Leicestershire, so locati...

Re: 2024 Six Nations Chat

A bit flippant maybe, but if you put the current All Blacks 15 in white shirts with the Borthwick game plan, would they win games ?

I like Clement. Always makes metres, physical, good over the ball. With Ackerman signing at Gloucester, it could be a smart move.
