Re: French rugby 2019/20

Champions Toulouse who were missing a lot of first choice players to the National XV lost at Bordeaux but came home with a losing bp. Clermont, despite missing several internationalists, disposed of La Rochelle but without a winning bp. How have the squads been affected by the World Cup would you s...

Re: New Kit

Solid no from me this year, home kit is exactly the same and away is a manky orange/salmon. It's not an issue I care too much about but I do think we're being underserved by Kukri in the design department.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

Not exactly our best value signing ever but some of those left hand spin passes out to May on the wing were pure poetry, on his day he was the best distributor with ball in hand we've had in ages. Ah well, onward and upwards.

Ah that is very helpful, cheers! Has there been any discussion over exactly how much Sarries have smuggled into their wage budget?

So, notwithstanding the Tigers travel to Pau, what is the easiest way to travel to Pau?
Looking at Bristol to Toulouse myself, flight times aren't too bad doing Friday-Sunday. £52 and a 3 hour train on to Pau.

Good luck to him, always had a lot of time for his attitude on the pitch if not off it. I do suspect he's about to find out that all the gym time and nutritional supplements in the world won't save him in the heavyweight division, those boys don't mess about.

Re: Steve Booth

Terrible news, I started going to Tigers games in the early 2000s and many of my fondest early rugby memories involve him zipping down the wing in lairy coloured boots. I'll be thinking of his family and friends.

A solid dose of the old Realpolitik there CitizenSmiff !
I'd love to seize the means of production (of tries) but they're all big hefty lads who wouldn't take kindly to forced labour!

Re: Are we still a family club.

I agree with the sentiment that the club/sport is slowly beginning to feel less like a family and more like a business, but then top level players didn't cost hundreds of thousands a year in the past and now they do so that money's got to come from somewhere. Myself I'm repulsed by all the tie-ins w...

It's a decent but unspectacular squad, fortunately we're on the easier side of the draw.

Heinz is an odd one, is Ben Spencer injured? Jones does love to parachute in a slightly pointless ringer every now and again.

Re: Wade makes an impact on 1st game

Looks like he's become even nippier in the off season! Hope it works out, always felt he was hard done by being passed over for much worse England wingers just because of the defensive liability. He might never see his like again now that everybody is a 6ft meat machine.

Re: When the world cup is done and dusted

Amazes me how highly some people rate players that they have probably not seen play, even on television. It will be some time after the end of our guys participation in the World Cup that we will see them available for first team action. by then we will have informed opinions about some of the new ...

Re: Leicester Tigers up for sale for £60 Million

It still boggles my mind that you can buy one of the world's biggest rugby clubs for the same price as a decent centre-back. More profitable than the average football club as well, in that we occasionally make some.

Re: Ground development

In my experience of builders, work actually begins a month, or two, or three later than the date you think. The summer date will be the 'taking possession of the site'. Same, the first six weeks is always one lad going around stringing up tape everywhere and spray painting various inscrutable symbo...
