Re: Tigers post Borthwick - next Head Coach?

So am I. I am very angry and sorry to lose SB and Kev to England. I am most angry RFU let Jones hang on so long. Borthwick is going to have a major task to make England fit for the World Cup and it may be a poisoned chalice.

Re: Tigers post Borthwick - next Head Coach?

Give the guy a chance! Stop rubbishing him because of your prejudices he has a solid team around him let’s see what he can do instead of some international “name” who may be out of a job after the World Cup because he failed.

Re: Wasps in the mire - now in administration

Coventry city will be very wise to stay away from Ashley. Some friends in the north east ‘ s dislike of what he turned Newcastle united into borders on sheer hatred. And the new wasps rugby club be advised to stay away from Coventry as they will not get the support to be economically viable

Re: Wasps in the mire - now in administration

All that is being sold is the name. Wasps were part of one of the most convoluted financial set ups I have ever seen and the shareholders in ACL with common shareholders in wasps rfc maybe trying to salvage something. The lease on the Ricoh is a valuable asset which may resort back to Coventry counc...

Re: Wasps in the mire - now in administration

Thank you Old hob for the info. My understanding now is that ACL( owned by some if not all of wasps directors.) own the lease to the stadium not Wasps holdings , therefore there is no value for the sacked employees or creditors in the stadium. Wasps own the £35 million bond liability so wasps holdin...

Re: Wasps in the mire - now in administration

Please advise: wasps holdings are in administration, ACL own the ground - are they owned by wasps holdings, therefore the administrators effectively own the ground and May dispose as they wish to satisfy the creditors or is the ground owned by others and creditors except hmrc will get nothing.

Re: Wasps still in the mire

I do not care ifwasps or any other professional club go bust. Chuck them out of the league and give someone else a chance. All professional sport today is governed by money.Where you play, who you play is all about how much money will I make. Playing standards, player welfare are way down the list o...

Re: Aus v England - 09th July 2022 - Team to save Eddies job!

I thought it for a time now, Jones is way past his sell by date but RFU will not change it as it will cost too much. To lose in such a way to 14 men says it all , come the World Cup we will not last long.

Re: The Hundred X Rugby

Just like the hundred in cricket it removes the influence and the cash from the clubs and gives it the organisers and the promoters/franchise holders. Cynical cash move will mark the end of professional club rugby’s we know it.

Re: Walking back from the abyss

It called “trying to influence officials” before the game. The constant chase for money brings the game in to disrepute let alone gobby management. Lam was completely let off for an outrage, Erasmus will probably get a medal.

Re: 100

I have watched two matches so far and found its nothing better than T20(will not watch many more) . It is a cynical cash driven attempt designed to destroy the county system. Smaller counties like Leicester and Derby will gain nothing and may collapse. As usual money talks.

Re: Has Rugby Got a Refereeing Problem?

Yes ! It is being done to “improve the spectacle” - balderdash. We have a rule book which is continually undermined by so called .”game management” at the behest of management and media not the spectators. The Southern Hemisphere have ignored “minor infringements” for years and that is changing the ...
