Re: Rugby players to sue for brain damage!

I have just read comments on the bbc by bill sweeney of the RFU that I find them a little unbelievable. To think the language used causes dementia is incredulous.
There is a major concern about head injuries and it must not be treated lightly.

Re: Rugby players to sue for brain damage!

I think they may have a case. Since I played and watched every week the game has changed massively. The modern game ,to me, a a hybrid between rugby league and American football without adequate HIA protocols and padding. Years ago backs were slight, highly skilled at avoiding tackles, jinking, side...

Re: Coaching Staff vs International Players

One observation. Regardless of the coaches or DOR for years we aimlessly kick away possession, usually our international halfbacks. That I believe is not to do with coaching but the players. Unlike Exeter our players do not all sing from the same hymn sheet and that is the players decision but allow...

Re: Rugby And all sports’ fans matter!

I agree completely with Bengal Tiger. This pox kills, it is exceptionally virulent and spreads ultra rapidly. The media enjoy the death statistics but do not offer any sensible advice. The scientists expound theory after theory but their appears to be no current solution other than staying apart . W...

Re: International call up chaos

Given the salary cap and England internationals are the highest paid no point in employing them to play a few club games. The press say a number of clubs are going bust, so economic sense says get rid save money.

Re: Reversing the great schism. Is it an option now?

If you plan to amalgamate RU with another sport it should be American football. Greater on bulk, far more money in the game but it will need much better officials who practice the rule book not the media “game management”

Re: Slowly but surely...

Agreed. Improvements are showing, the coaching team have a plan and it appears to be working. Small steps at first but major improvement. Now address the problem of needlessly kicking away possession.and who knows we will emerge as a major force next season.

Re: Annoyance over forward passes

Unfortunately in the modern game “game management guidelines” carry more weight than the laws. Refs have been given free reign over many offences to promote a faster game ( probably encouraged by the media) but to old stagers like me I am very confused that I do not watch many games . I do not know ...

Re: Planet Rugby - Leicester to remain in free fall

Unfortunately in the current climate what passes for journalism is hacks sitting at home with some old videos, several tins of loopy juice and dream up things to write. Sensationalism comes first, hearsay and rumour next, followed by pet hates. Truth and accuracy is not considered. Remember he who p...

Re: Ringfencing almost upon us ?

Will ring fencing benefit the sport? I personally doubt it. It will become a servant of mammon, a privileged elite motivated and continually in pursuit of money. Rules will be changed to suit the media they are chasing for more money. Unfortunately the game I played as a youth and followed for years...

Re: Puzzled - Saracens!

A thought. If they were guilty why were they offered a choice. Surely in the pursuit of closure a full examination and disclosure would accelerate closure and clear the smell, until the full extent is known the doubts will continue and how do we know that all the schemes used are known and can be st...

Re: New Kit

I do not like the new kit but I am old fashioned and remember the old 70s hoops, but the new logo looks like two carpet tacks and is as related to
Leicester Tigers as are the aliens on the moon.
