Re: Rugby players transport
Actually he crashed between a red and a blue on an 'off piste' section, although more between pistes rather than full on off piste it would have been regularly tracked. He was also an experienced skier so more than likely ski'd most winters, even though he was retired at the time of his injury. F1 ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Steve Borthwick and the Chamber of Oval Park
When you think of the level the top Welsh clubs were at pre Professionalism, the current state of affairs is a joke. This is such a good point, and had Llanelli, Cardiff and Swansea, along with possibly Neath, been left as identities in their own right, rather than having to absorb lesser sides I t...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Steve Borthwick and the Chamber of Oval Park
Welsh regions were, and are, moribund as identities. The Irish provinces are , largely, historic (they lack the 'centre' of Irish locations, presumably Monaghan could've been one?). As a Whites supporter in the 90s, Ospreys were a dead duck for Swansea and Neath supporters. It was like amalgamating ...

Alas, no ST for us this coming season. Having to pay for the collapsing ancient conservatory to be rebuilt as a room has stuffed that, what we me being a pensioner (albeit with part-time work) and Mrs G being COVID/CFS (she once collapsed on the terrace AND we lost the game :smt013 ). The ticket off...

Re: Tigers v Leinster (H) - Saturday 07th May 2022 - 5-30pm KO
Interesting reading the reactions, perceptions from the other side. First one is cup rugby is cup rugby. Leicester showed they were a little bit naive, keep the scoreboard ticking over, stay in the game, Leicester completely forgot about scoreboard pressure and the game was up by the 38th minute. L...

Re: Tigers v Leinster (H) - Saturday 07th May 2022 - 5-30pm KO
I have always deplored the fact that provinces come up against clubs in European Cup games. It is not in the spirit of what it is about. Little wonder that Leinster have won it four times, with so many Irish internationals in the side. It was initially intended and still should, about clubs. Why th...

Re: Tigers v Leinster (H) - Saturday 07th May 2022 - 5-30pm KO
TBH I have never met an arrogant Irish rugby fan. That’s not to say there aren’t any but they have always seemed on the level to me. I think RB is right it’s the media thing especially that twonk Doyle who loves anything Irish to the nth degree. Never met an arrogant Irish fan, big difference from ...

Re: Tigers v Leinster (H) - Saturday 07th May 2022 - 5-30pm KO
Tigers needed that. It was, paradoxically, a complete validation of the club's renaissance and trajectory. Facing a region - never a club but the repository of most of a top national team - we failed. The fact the arguments are over poor reffing, even called by some commentators, and a poor first 20...

Lads, over a decade of this story. Playing an almost full single international side usually in the world top five, and they also get the rub of the green. The All Blacks were the same. If you look back over posts you'll see so many asking where the level playing field is, the answer there isn't one....

Mooted some years ago, and still staggeringly unpopular as whatever they do flies in the face of regional loyalties and contraction of leagues below as clubs go under.

Re: Formerly of this parish
I think we and a number of other sporting clubs have seen it before, there is nothing inherently wrong and sometimes a change is needed just to frehen up ideas and thinking as things get stale and players do not respond as well to hearing the same voice year after year. Not a criticism but maybe Ba...
