Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: There and Back again a Tigers Tale by Steve Borthwick

When we 'lost' Burns/Williams IMO we lost the best combination of a a first half/finisher. The equivalent is not Burns/Ford - TBH I fear we could come a cropper if we can't tempt another tactical 10 or Lancaster develops that way. Then we have the prospect of Fred retiring.....

Pity we were missing our top line internationals, score would've been close to a half century. :smt044

Re: Premiership Stats 2021/22

Very interesting. Overturns some of the opinions I had. We come much higher in some of the categories than I would have thought. Bodes well. The Times analysis is that Exeter are the team to beat. Well, let's do that tomorrow. Beating Exeter depends to some extent on the ref's tolerance for NZ tack...

A very interesting back row, with a 'shut them down' set of locks, and backs to purr about as a defensive shift, little short on the speed except for Harry Whizz. TBH, if this lot fire at all, Chiefs are in for a frustrating, then ruinous, afternoon.

Re: Tigers vs Exeter - Saturday 18th September 2021 - 1500

Why do unthinking relatives decide to do things like get married etc on home matchdays? Why do competitions in my active sports (orienteering, canicross) have their reinstated comps likewise? Hopefully by the time I get to WR the Crumbie will be sorted. As Mrs G noted, I hate seated rugby watching, ...

Dokie, there's more loyalty on the Terrace and wooden seats than in any other stand. Hard-core supporters who even stay for the end of games.

Sale could afford it with the rumoured names that might be off. I could see Sale offloading/losing Akker van der Merwe Oosthuizen One of the du Preez twins to the Sharks (SA ones) Ross Rob du Preez RJVR Solomona My money is on Taylor being a pre-emptive replacement for Akker (They would still have ...

Re: Matt Banahan

Some years ago, after we'd beaten Bath, he came over for a chat and a lot of the Tigers fans had photos with him. No poser, he was genuine, warm and jnteresting.

Re: Scarlets visit - Thursday 09th September 2021

Not forgetting those with a realistic, sporting, balanced outlook on matches. The holding, blocking, overrunning and sealing off that so many of our opponents get away with, time and again, when not a single Tigers player would ever dream of indulging in such practices. Nobody said that, but then y...

Quite amusing how fickle some fans are. Lose one friendly with a much changed team and suddenly at all doom and gloom Not forgetting those with a realistic, sporting, balanced outlook on matches. Re: Scarlets visit - Thursday 09th September 2021

The reffing was average Prem standard, I.e holding, blocking and overrunning in best Exeter and Pro14 style was unpunished. Could be crucial next week.

Deflates the balloon a bit. If the ref ignores over runs and blocking a week on Sat we will get flattened.

If this was a proper match, I'd put money on Tigers rolling them over in the second half.
