Re: Has Rugby Got a Refereeing Problem?
Let’s put it this way, if we look back at threads on this forum that has raging debates about the referee I can almost guarantee that it would be following a game that we lost... Yes well that stands to reason as if you have a number of bad decisions against you then you are more likely to lose par...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE V: Borthwick Strikes Back
I think there is a way back for all of them except one. I'm surprised with all of the other releases that he's not been cut free yet. Also can't see that any other Premiership club would take him on? Tbh assuming we're talking about the same person as "the one" him being happy to take a wage that t...

Re: Has Rugby Got a Fan Problem?
Stradey Park in the 90s set the bar incredibly high for boorish behaviour in the flesh. I'm sure t'was they who begat the urine in the beer glass throwing that caused a short-lived issue at the Millenium. :smt004 Newcastle fans great, Bath pasty boys(next to the players entrance) very welcoming and ...

Re: Has Rugby Got a Refereeing Problem?
In contrast, I think that Craig Maxwell-Keys is improving. As my fellow terrace dweller of the 10m line will attest, he wasn't one of the refs that exuded confidence in previous seasons but he has been pretty good this year from what I've seen. Also Matt Carley is one of the better younger generati...

Re: Has Rugby Got a Refereeing Problem?
Evening all! Now this may be a slightly controversial piece but given both our game yesterday and then the England game afterwards was affected by refereeing decisions, I decided to write this about my concern for the game and the referees. For me, what happened yesterday was not a one-off and part...

SB said as much in his interview - great defence, need to sort the attack out.
For me a massive improvement and a real feel of evolution PLUS how good are our homegrown players!

The misogynists on here need to examine their moral compasses. Utterly inexcusable.

OMG. Dreamt a score of 29-3.
Not sure whether England or Tigers got a kicking.

Discussed that today in Exeter with Chiefs sibs. Consensus was "he wasn't at fault" leading to a discussion about jumping into someone. The main topic was, of course, Simmonds.

Re: Progress Under Borthwick
Before the season I felt we were likely to start out playing around the standard of a lower mid table, then as the players started to gel and get to know each other that we would end up playing at a top 6 standard of play, I can certainly see our standard of play progressing and as it turns out we'...

Re: 20th Feb 2021 - Home vs Wasps
Changing the law so the team kicking can't play the ball as in Dokie's suggestion would likely lead to even more boring kick and rush for territory in my opinion. These jumps in the air often reflect something out of the Karate Kid, they are pretty wild and so out of control that they often have tr...

Re: 20th Feb 2021 - Home vs Wasps
I agree that something needs to be done about the player jumping into someone on the ground. I am not sure what the rules could be though. If the player on the ground is stationary then the could have the right to the space but usually both players are moving but one has jumped and is literally fly...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE V: Borthwick Strikes Back
Please can we keep this discussion on topic. Thanks :smt023 Sorry - mine was a follow-on from Costelow. I guess having lived in Swansea for a decade and worked with one of the selectors (the late Wyn Williams), I had a taste of the cynicism and tribalism that operated there (as well evidenced by Ji...
