Re: Ospreys v Tigers
Where would the following scenario leave us, we win by the odd point, score 3 tries, conversions and a couple of penalties, they score 4 tries, get lbp and would they then get an extra point for 4 tries, who goes through? Would that make points 4-2? Toulouse because they would have more match point...

Re: Castle Grim to be dropped for RWC2015?
Correct me if i'm wrong but wasn't the main reason (cover story) for having games in Cardiff is to be close to the west country, . Or, to be fair, the RFU's way of sweetening the WRU up to vote for them..... oh yes, I agree that was the real reason; I was just pointing out that the given reason of ...

Re: Castle Grim to be dropped for RWC2015?
Correct me if i'm wrong but wasn't the main reason (cover story) for having games in Cardiff is to be close to the west country, particularly cities such as Bristol who have as good as links to Cardiff, give or take 10 extra minutes on the train, as they do Gloucester. Isn't it therefore seems compl...

Re: 2015 RWC draw today
I saw posted elsewhere that tradition has it that the host usually open their world cup with a game against their strongest rival in their group, at the venue that holds the final. So that means the WC should kickoff with England v Australia at Twickers. I do however agree with the Welsh that the g...

Justin Marshal for the Ospreys against Ulster a fews years back in the H-Cup, and Budge Pountney for Northampton against us in 2002. Also a try from a line out for Samoa against Wales in the 1999 World Cup, although that was a Welsh throw in.

Re: RWC 2015 venues.. no welford road??
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-union/19886334 I notice a few forum members have already seen this. Former RFU chairman Martyn Thomas says the organizers had a 'moral obligation' to use rugby grounds for the tournament. Nice to see its not just those from the Tigers camp speaking out. EDIT: There...

Re: RWC 2015 venues.. no welford road??
I still think the RFU are setting themselves up to look foolish here. All but two of the stadiums are over 30k as far as I can see. Will these be any more than half full for, say, Japan v Tonga? This is the most glaring error of the whole affair; for example with the Falcons drawing crowds of aroun...

Re: Ben Youngs
Guscott last week in an article on the BBC (who does have periods of writing sense) pretty much summed up the above, young kid has a dip in inform, needs to be dropped as a kick up the backside, but in no way does that make them a bad player and will return better for it.

Re: The Super Rugby Thread
I love Super 15 rugby - great way to wake up on a Saturday morning, and really helps gee me up for any matches later on in the day. I think from an English point of view, it will be really interesting to see how Cipriani fits into a Rebels back line that will include O'Connor and Beale. And also ho...

Re: Fabio Capello resigns as England manager
I'm not entirely clear on the reasons for his resignation, and i'm sure many of these reasons are yet to become public knowledge; but you have to question his commitment to the team leaving 4 months before a major tournament. After all it was his team, one he picked, and one he built through the qua...

Re: Dayglo 4 Farrell 4 eva IDST
From the talk before the tournament, it sounded like England would be happy to come away with 2-3 wins as long as the performance and the potential was there. I think generally the conditions were poor today and England, despite not playing particularly well, managed to grind out a win in a fixture ...

The Super Rugby Thread
I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but the Super Rugby season kicks off again in a couple of weeks and I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread for those who follow events over in the southern hemisphere to share some thoughts, predictions and the like. From a South African angle, thre...

A few times in fact, the latter when we lost out to Gloucester at the top of the table by that one point. A few seasons before we and Saracens had points deducted for doing the same.rdracup wrote:Can happen ... I think we did something similar years ago in another competition.
