Re: European Challenge Cup - Cardiff vs Tigers

I don’t want to rain on anyone’s parade here, but let’s not forget that Cardiff are rubbish. Edinburgh won down there with About twenty players missing with less drama than yesterday.

EPCR website is streaming the Challenge Cup matches apparently. If anyone wants to put themselves through it.

Re: London Irish vs Tigers

We're going to struggle to get ahead of Sarries even with a 35 point start this year, aren't we.

Re: Saracens Cap Investigation / Grounds for Appeal

here's a suggestion rather than a peanuts to Wray £5m fine would it not have been better to restrict Saracens cap by £2m for each of the next 3 seasons to reflect 3 seasons of known breaches and if they can be shown to be breaching the cap this season then the restriction should apply for the follo...

Will it be like rugby disciplinary hearings? Plead innocent and risk a greater punishment?

Here's hoping....
Or get it halved for turning up in a nice suit and not eating the pink wafers

Right, let’s say no more about it and get back to our petty club rivalries.

I’d appreciate any views on Calum Hunter Hill, on the bench for sarries tomorrow, if he’s on for any length of time.

Re: New Rip Off Plastic Beer Mugs

Beer's a very important lubricant for the enjoyment of sport I've always found (especially recently!), and I don't blame the club for attempting to streamline the process to try and save money. I do blame them for continually being bad at it. Try being Scottish. It's a four drink minimum before kic...

Re: TMO question

I may have missed something, but when did the question the ref asks change. Noticed this World Cup that instead of the "any reason I cannot " type questions now they are saying " on field decision is/not a try". Better in my opinion Agreed. As I've said many times, the question should be "This is m...

Re: England in the 6N

Much to my chagrin, I think England may be in for a period of dominance in the 6Ns. The squad is still relatively young, especially compared to the Welsh and Irish. Ireland will be losing Best, Cronin, Healy, Ryan, O'Mahony, Murray, Sexton, Earls, Kearney in the near future, and although they have a...

Jumping into a tackle is illegal, at the lower levels referees I have come across penalise wingers for leaping or skipping to prevent the tap tackle. Something that I do not see on TV.
I've never been sure about that last bit - that's jumping away from a tackle, not into one, surely?

Re: debate about high tackling

The game is about contact and a contest for the ball, high or clothesline type tackles have always been illegal, a tackle round the neck is illegal, a tackle round the chest the then slips up maybe slips of the ball or perhaps the tackled person raises his arms or lowers his head making the tackle ...

Re: debate about high tackling

I don't see any shoeing at the ruck any more, rarely see a dangerous challenge in the air these days, nor a spear tackle, no confusion with players there. So give it another few more months then finally the coaches/players mindsets will adapt as per the previous references and all this will be forg...
