Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

I mean I feel that FTT and Carnduff are already basically the squad depth position they will be for next season. Woodward will be 3rd choice 12 and Allen t fourth choice 9. The only one with what I call big pressure is Beets currently. I'm wondering if first choice will be either: Henderson into se...

Re: Tigers v Sale (A) - Premiership - Friday 10th May 2024 - KO: 7:45pm

I don't see any reason to even begin to suspect he's "lost the dressing room". The players look 100% committed, and I'm sure the dressing room will be signposted anyway. McKellar did recently say that they have got the "preparation" wrong this season. There have also been suggest...

Re: Tigers v Sale (A) - Premiership - Friday 10th May 2024 - KO: 7:45pm

McKeller cannot win…..lose and he gets stick…..send a weakened / experimental team and lose there will be huge disappointment with the fans. Sale are in contention for a top 4 so for the integrity of the competition, Tigers should put out the strongest available side to try to win it……not experimen...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

George Ford came out of nowhere to make his Tigers debut at 16, maybe Threlfall is deemed good enough to have a breakthrough season next year and will be understudy to Pollard. Disclaimer: I know nothing about him.... Could be argued to be splitting hairs about "nowhere" but Ford had play...

Re: Tigers v Sale (A) - Premiership - Friday 10th May 2024 - KO: 7:45pm

I agree with many of the comments above. If this isn't an opportunity to play 2 or 3 of the youngsters, when is? I know I defended McKellar for picking Van Wyk throughout the season, but for these two matches its hard to come up with any reason to start him over Whitcombe. Same for Dolly over FTT or...

Re: Tigers v Sale (A) - Premiership - Friday 10th May 2024 - KO: 7:45pm

The likes of Clive (Eddie Jones is another prime example) are regularly guilty of trying to make things more complicated than they need to be, because they're trying far too hard to look clever. Steward just needs to play a bit better. That's all. The same could be said of Tigers as a whole at the ...

Re: Tigers v Sale (A) - Premiership - Friday 10th May 2024 - KO: 7:45pm

Kata on the wing is not an experiment, that is the position he p!ays for his country on a regular basis. I feel that the experiment of playing him at 12 has restricted our backs, he is a good player but he is not a distributor and in my opinion that is what is required in that position. Freddie is ...

Re: New Supporters Forum?

I've heard some things that were said at the supporters forum were asked to be kept in the room. Can anyone who was there say if it's information/club plans that will be released soon or at all? I think you're referring to the evening where McKellar and Wilkes were questioned by season ticket holde...

Yep, we lost 3 out of 4 while half the team was away at the world cup, then won 6 out of 8 in the prem with wins against all the teams that are getting the plaudits - Sarries, Bath and Saints.

Back to 3 losses out of 4 since the 6N.

I've only seen the clip of Kinder's try, but by all accounts he was excellent against a decent senior professional side. Give him a go, what's the worst that can happen? Do you have a link to the clip? Not sure if this will work... https://www.instagram.com/reel/C6hKbe9Mc1x/?igsh=dzNpNmtrY3E2NnFj

Re: Champions and Challenge Cup Semi-finals - 2024

Marler is indeed an intelligent man, but he gets a bit too carried away at times with the "rugby banter" and his self created wind up merchant persona. It might work occasionally, but this is far from the first time that he, and his teammates, have seen it backfire catastrophically. The he...

Re: Champions and Challenge Cup Semi-finals - 2024

Really good performance by Saints, they just needed to be more accurate in the first half.

The two "Irish" Kiwis were the difference.

I've heard that even Ben Youngs' critics think he's still "of a decent standard" so I reckon he's got plenty left in him.
