Re: Tigers v Saints (A) - Premiership - Saturday 20th April 2024 - KO: 15-05

If Saints and Bath (who could not win a match last season) . It simply begs the question why can't we? Nothing to say that we can't. How long has van Graan been at Bath, Dowson & Vesty at Saints, and McKellar at Tigers? And Bath and Saints have only really been successful this season. Van Graan...

Re: Tigers v Saints (A) - Premiership - Saturday 20th April 2024 - KO: 15-05

I imagine Kata played wing at Brumbies because he'd just converted from rugby league, and (back then particularly) it was a less technical position. Kata's kicking was poor for Tonga, and that is really 90% of what wingers are asked to do these days. I think he played there for Tonga simply because ...

Time to give a few of the youngsters more minutes, it's a rare opportunity with 3 games and nothing to lose. Carnduff should start all 3 games, Hanro should play at 8 when fit if that's the plan for next season. Ilione needs a lot more minutes. FTT and Vanes, if fit, should be in squads. Woodward pa...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Your right tigers do lack pace, and have done since Johnny may, but we also seem to lack the creativity to use pace, so it would just be wasted if we had it. Looking at the games today and yesterday those most teams seem so comfortable with ball in hand and offloading, and that not down to missing ...

What is wrong with the Board ? They bring in an Aussie coach who has proved himself to be completely devoid of any talent whatsoever. The reason the Boks have been so successful is that Erasmus put in place a system that allowed players to use their own intelligence and didn’t dictate rigid ‘plays’...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

I have often posted that Tigers lack genuine pace and a ball carrying threat. I thought we solved that issue signing OHC and Watson not to mention Wiese. Strikes me that OHC as has been widely muted is a different player from when he was at Irish, Watson is still long term injured and Wiese is off....

Re: Tigers v Saints (A) - Premiership - Saturday 20th April 2024 - KO: 15-05

No matter how you spin it the words ""I'm not worried about the play-offs" as well as other reported quotations came from Mckellar. His complete sentence ""I'm not really worried about the play-offs, I just want to worry about our performance." does not magically make ...

https://westernforce.rugby/news/force-complete-deal-for-international-hooker-nic-dolly-2024418 Nic Dolly officially confirmed (again) to Western Force. As he joins Carter and Potter back in bis homeland. Sounds like a good move for Nic. Sorry to see him go, but going home to a place with familiar f...

Very winnable with those lineups.

Courtney Lawes is huge for them, he's the one player in their pack that's top quality.

Huge opportunity for Carnduff, I'm looking forward to seeing how he does.

I'm surprised there isn't more excitement about Perese, he's got pace, power and handling skills.

Definitely an upgrade on Porter/Scott for me.

Re: Tigers v Saints (A) - Premiership - Saturday 20th April 2024 - KO: 15-05

Bookies have Saints at long odds on to win (range 4/9 to 2/7). On handicap you can get Tigers +9 with odds of 10/11 so if you think we have a decent chance fill your boots. Saints at 3/10 and Tigers at 5/2 means bookies have 35% chance Tigers win, 65% chance Saints win. That's not long odds at all....

This is how oval insights have the top 4 race...

Wonder if those numbers were based on Russell being injured for Bath or not...
Can't argue too much with that, but if we beat Saints everything changes.

Re: Tigers v Saints (A) - Premiership - Saturday 20th April 2024 - KO: 15-05

For all the talk of Saints impressive attack and fixed defence... they've only averaged 3 more points per prem match than us (and apparently we are clueless in attack), and they still have the 4th worst defence. We have a better points difference than they do. Saints rightly favourites at home, but ...

Kata to start for me, we've always had more joy against Saints with a big ball carrying back. We're not going to outdo them on pace.

If most of the pack are fit then we've got a good chance.
