Re: Eastmond

I really don't think Eastmond is the long term replacement for Toomua, he's just a (very talented) extra pair of hands in the centres, which I think everyone would agree is needed. So he didn't succeed hugely at Wasps? Well if he had, he probably wouldn't fit into our salary cap! Toomua leaving in a...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part Deux

The idea that Owen Williams would be the best replacement for Toomua if and when he leaves is utterly hilarious.

Disappointed that Toomua looks certain to leave sooner than we expected, but the chance to play in a World Cup is always going to take priority, so I don't blame him for changing his mind.

Re: New Hotel

Depends who will be operating the hotel, the details of that agreement and whether Leicester is a destination in need of 150 extra hotel bedrooms.

Re: Tour to SA

I'm glad Manu won't be going. If I were England coach I wouldn't pick him anyway - he needs to prove he can stay fit before he's worth investing time in at international level. BOC really does deserve an opportunity. It's not only his ability at the breakdown, he does well with ball in hand, good su...

Re: MOC to be sacked?

The thing with defamation is that to be awarded damages you have to actually prove that you have been damaged . With all respect to my fellow forum posters, I suspect you would have a hard time proving in court that any of our posts have damaged MOC or anyone else. There are many other messageboards...

Re: Holmes

I agree that moving Veainu to wing is not a great idea defensively. I would rather have that weakness at full back.

Ok so he prefers to play on the wing, but the needs of the team should come first. Doesn't mean he's going to leave because of it either.

Re: Holmes

Thompstone and Malouf are hardly bad players. It's easy to look back at the season now and say that Holmes has been the most impressive of the three. Wasps got rid of him when he was 22, and he then spent 3 years in the Championship before Tigers signed him, so MOC is really not the first coach who ...

Trinder definitely deserves a chance this summer if he stays fit, ridiculously talented player.

Whoever he picks in his team, someone is going to tell him he's completely wrong. It's all a matter of opinion.

Re: Sale away (Yes...Enya...zzzzzzzzz)

That was a great win at Sale, good performance from all, Matt Tait showed again what a useful member of the squad he is. I do not understand why people keep saying this was our worst season in the professional era or since the year 2000, does no one remember why Deano got sacked after we finished i...

Re: MOC to be sacked?

I would also argue that the league has been more competitive this season than last, but that's always up for debate - next season sees moneybags Bristol added to the mix too. Even so, if we are in the same place at Christmas as we were last year, I will join the change bandwagon, but I'm fairly conf...

Re: Next Season!

If we can improve handling skills and keep key players fit, we will be comfortably in the playoffs next season. Reasons to be positive: BOC, Genge and Toomua are top class players. Manu still has the potential to be something special, and has managed more games this year than for a long time. Ben Yo...

Re: MOC to be sacked?

Despite the good win yesterday - two facts remain: 1. MoC has achieved the worst season results wise since I've been tracking performance from 2005 /2006 (yes i know). To give some perspective, this season by my 'tracker' Tigers got 12 'points' across all 3 competitions. Max is 35 (top all 'leagues...

Re: MOC to be sacked?

IMO a failed RCC campaign is a failed RCC campaign. Whether it's 1 win or 4, all that really matters is the fact we didn't get out of the group. Not terribly interested in records either, winning the Premiership and RCC is all that is important from my point of view. I think the possibility of that ...

Re: Anglo no more Welsh Cup

I'm not sure that a semi-pro team getting humiliated by a Premiership outfit is in anyone's interests. Top 4 from Championship would work though, as would improving the A League.
