Re: The other Code World Cup - Aus & NZ pull out
You also have to remember that the Aus and NZ unions aren't flush with cash. They can't afford to pull out of arrange fixtures and not go on tours.

Re: Cockers on the move!!
The timing of this seems to me like it could be as a result of the SRU not investing in Edinburgh as much as RC would want? Hence, potentially more appealing offers.

Re: England vs USA - 4th July 2021
Smith isn't Wilkinson in defence but he seems really solid in the tackle from what I've seen of him. Randall is pretty much exactly the same size as Faf and he's the second best 9 in rugby for my money after Dupont. Exactly. And most teams have their 9 as a sweeper-type defender anyway so they can ...

Re: England vs USA - 4th July 2021
What is the point in starting Genge, Underhill and Slade exactly? I could understand if they were on the bench as the match will carry some ranking points, but surely EJ knows exactly what they offer by now. England should walk past the USA, and that's not being disrespectful, they're just very much...

Re: Premiership Final
You know my feelings about Chiefs but this is a genuine question. Are they really that good or were they just playing in a 2 team league? You have to admit our league was poor for a few seasons but now there's Bristol,Sale,Quins (can they repeat it?) and other sides very capable on their day. Or wa...

Re: Reffell still not in the Wales Squad
With Cory Hill going to Japan along with Ball away to Australia and AWJ unable to carry on forever Wales need locks more than flankers currently. Reffell is a massive talent but the Wales back row options are fantastic. Faletau, Tipuric and Navidi - All deservedly Lions Moriarty - A blunt instrumen...

Re: 13 team league 21/22
If it's unfair to relegate someone due to COVID, then surely it is unfair not to promote someone due to COVID.
What I want to know is if the league is going to 14 teams for 22/23, or if 2 teams are being relegated...

Re: Premiership Final
Perhaps a pertinent question would be whether Marcus Smith would be permitted to play for England in the same manner as he does for 'quins... Irrespective of talent the international game has (forced, by Coaches) constraints and more than ever a safety first and risk elimination structure is prefer...

I wonder if they'll lose a lot of casual viewers due to the Lions game earlier in the day, and the football.

Surely there was no point picking him for this series anyway.
If England can't beat USA and Canada with the 3rds then there is no hope.

Re: Tom Youngs Charged
I agree, and I think Youngs shouldn't get as long a ban (plus the better disciplinary record).
But both cases are claiming the ref chose not to make correct decision.

Re: Tom Youngs Charged
Youngs should expect a decent ban. Its not far off being as bad as the Hartley incident with Barnes. He swore at the red and effectively questioned his integrity. There is a difference, Barnes objected more to being labelled a cheat rather than Hartley's use of the expletive. Youngs' accusations we...

Re: Captain for 2021/22 Season
Might be an old-fashioned view but I don't think 10s make good captains.
They need to be exceptional to manage the game, place kicking (normally), deal with the ref, and make the decision that they need to hand over kicking duties when they are having a mediocre day.
