Re: Alain Rolland - Warburton decision
Apologies for the wrong tackle description..... and pdf context. Fijian tackle IRB judgement v France RWC2011. (not against Rolland) This is what they said about the HC Red Card..... (to correct my previous) That having upheld the Referee’s decision to award a red card for the offence contrary to la...

Re: Alain Rolland - Warburton decision
Interesting opinions for the Florian Fritz red card (HC last season) on the forum? Because this is what the IRB thought of the Red Card issued to Florian Fritz by Alain Rolland:- http://www.irb.com/mm/document/tournament/mediazone/02/05/69/51/111003jodecisionfabriceestebanez(france).pdf Even the IRB...

Re: ...and that'll be the last we see of Alain Rolland too.
Then lets see this LAW get "consistantly" applied in Rugby..... instant guilt and no judgement on intent or malice...... "any" dangerous tackle. That should see quite a few players around the world sitting at home watching TV whilst their side is playing.

Re: ...and that'll be the last we see of Alain Rolland too.
I know where your coming from and understand what your saying and you are correct in black and white but I do genuinely think that Clerc was responsible for the "twist" which ultimately made the tackle as bad as it was. That leaves every big hitting rugby player at the mercy of his oppone...

LeicScarlet - we're still waiting Look .... I am not about to argue the "moment"..... but I will argue to the death that it was NOT a red card. Any right thinking "Rugby" follower will say exactly the same . [/quote] LeicScarlet - you haven't responded to Phil B's point when he ...

Re: ...and that'll be the last we see of Alain Rolland too.
Do you honestly and truly think anyone would be stupid enough to risk that by deliberately tipping themselves up so that they land on their neck? Nowadays, yes! He didn't excactly tip himself up did he. He just made the best of what had become a bad situation, IMO. Professionalism! I have to agree ...

Re: ...and that'll be the last we see of Alain Rolland too.
I also seriously doubt Clerc deliberately tipped himself up. I know there's this 'win at all cost' attitude you speak of, but why would anyone massively increase their risk death or paralysis for something so petty? This is not simply someone making a massive deal of a slight clip. Sure, you might ...

Re: ...and that'll be the last we see of Alain Rolland too.
So I have a stupid attitude because I think any thing that threatens a players health, like a dangerous tackle, should be strictly dealt with? What would you of said if Clerc had been seriously injured? By that logic Palmer should have been sent off in the 6 nations....... see video in above posts....

The record is on here (go and find it)..... that was malice, intention and "Actual Bodily Harm". That "was" a red card....... but he got a yellow.dontlookdown wrote: I doubt you were saying this when Tuilagi punched Ashton.
There is no way you can equate that incident with this one....

Then Rugby is a dead game....... if you apply the letter of the Law for every instance...... the game is dead. What a stupid attitude.....

Re: ...and that'll be the last we see of Alain Rolland too.
I agree that winning at all cost is creeping in but this was not a part of it, it was dangerous play. Rubbish, check Sam Warburtons record..... you will find that its a clean sheet. Alain Rolland, of all people, would know that as well. Sam was guilty of a good hard tackle (like Palmers above). Wha...

Well said.... bang on.The Boy Dave wrote: You may not like Dayglo or Francious Pienaar but they are two world cup winners and have been around a little more than most. Their opinions on this must be given some respect IMO.
