Re: Tigers v Leinster (A) - Champion Cup - Qtr Final - 07th April 2023 - KO 8:00pm

Doris is from Co. Mayo, Connacht but went to school and 3rd level in Dublin and came through the Leinster system there.

It's a magnificent day here in Dublin. A pity the match couldn't have been played from 4 or 5pm when there would still have been some warmth and plenty of light.

Re: Tigers v Leinster (A) - Champion Cup - Qtr Final - 07th April 2023 - KO 8:00pm

When do they rest their internationals ? If they have all been playing in 6N, then they must be due a rest. Or have they simply got the whole Irish national squad and field A team and B team ? The Leinster players who played in the 6N were given the two weeks off after the conclusion of the 6N whic...

Leinster’s injury update: https://www.leinsterrugby.ie/cullen-issues-injury-update-ahead-of-leicester-tigers-quarter-final/ Having Ringrose back is huge for them. Potentially Doris too, even if van der Flier is a small doubt. Potential of: Keenan, Larmour, Ringrose, Henshaw, Lowe, Byrne, Gibson-Par...

Re: European finals weekend - May 2022

Despite the pantomime booing from the La Rochelle supporters in the stadium they were great fun and very pleasant to chat with before the game. I thought that Wayne Barnes had a good match, he tried to keep the game flowing and indeed could have given lots more penalties and cards to both sides. Lei...

Re: 6 NATIONS 2021

I don’t think Poite covered himself in glory with his TMO decision on Iain Henderson’s ‘non-try’ in the Ireland vs Italy game.

Re: 6 NATIONS 2021

England were very hard done by in terms of the first two Welsh tries but they put themselves in a position to win the game but then persisted in giving away some of the dumbest penalties one could see. Itoje had 5 penalties on his own there. England’s discipline was dire.

Re: 6 NATIONS 2021

In hindsight it appears to have been a mistake to select the Saracens players in the team as they did not look especially match fit or match ready. It would have been larceny if Scotland had lost as they played all the rugby. They should have won by more and they won despite Russell at 10 not becaus...

I see that Tom Wood has been cited by EPRC for his 'tackle' on JVDF in the Leinster V Saints match.

Re: Matt O'Connor In...Mauger Out

As a Leinster supporter I think this is a very regressive move by your club. MOC spent two seasons with us during which he won the Pro12 League title, which a lot of supporters felt was won on the basis of work put in by his predecessor, Joe Schmidt. During his second season the quality of performan...

Re: Keith Earles

The circumstances aren't a mitigating factor for Earls's behaviour post penalty imo. For starters the Ref was right to award a red card although I don't attribute malice to Earls - he simply got his tacking technique wrong. However, lip reading him as he left the pitch he appeared to tell Stuart Hog...

ECHR rules that websites are liable for users' comments

I see that the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) recently ruled that the Estonian news site Delfi may be held responsible for anonymous and allegedly defamatory comments by its readers/users. The decision is a warning to website owners everywhere!

Re: England to win Six Nations

They say results follow performance. Engalnd have finished 2nd in the 6N 4 times in a row now. While it must be incredibly frustrating not to secure the title England is consistently at the business end of the tournament which has to set them up well, outlook wise, for the RWC. As to my team, Irelan...

Re: England to win Six Nations

It must have been heartbreaking for English rugby supporters and their team to lose out on PD by only 6 pts. When one recalls though, that England hosted the weakest 6N teams, Italy and Scotland at Twickers, they should never have found themselves in the position of having to chase quite so many poi...
