Re: World Rugby reveal radical plan

The choke tackle itself is OK, however the fact that the defending team immediately collapse the maul when it is called and they win the penalty from that, is contrary to the mauling laws which I can never work out. Agree totally on the freekick instead of scrum, but if scrums were set quickly, an a...

Re: 2024 Six Nations Chat

This being Elliot Daley, 65 times England player and 5 Times Lions who has never been good enough?
Pretty strong statement!
I'd accept that he's no longer as good as other players in the same positions but not that he's never been good enough.

Re: 2024 Six Nations Chat

I find it constantly amazing about Care. Throughout his career, he's been great for Club, but never excelled for country other than as an impact sub to speed things up a bit. He's then a media darling for achieving that and should start the next match, which if ever he does, he plays like the slight...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - Crocodile McKeller: Men at Work

I may be completely mistaken, wouldn’t be the first time, but listening to a lot of what Coley is saying on his podcast I think he is getting ready to hang his boots up certainly at international level. He obviously misses his sons greatly when away with England, and the tole of what is nearly 450 ...

Re: We need to talk about Handré

I assume he's the player who's out of the cap anyway, so the cap going up doesn't affect him one way or other - unless there is less additional to spend on a marquee player after the rise.
Not that I know anything at all - other than his forms dipped a little but I'm certain he'll bounce back.

Re: 2024 Six Nations Chat

As this squad does not appear to pleased those who want the strongest possible squad (too many new players) and those that want to throw anyone over 30 onto the scrap heap, I'd suggest Borthwick has got it about right! Enough old hands to teach new players what it's like to step up from 4000 spectat...

Reading the posts above, there seems some doubt over whether KS is leaving England? I thought that was an absolute with it already announced?

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - Crocodile McKeller: Men at Work

Agreed, we had no attack with WW as player-coach, coach or England with him as attack coach. Saracens were also a pretty dire attacking team with him there. Can't recall his Sale days but I also watched him in one of his last games against Bath at the rec on a Friday evening, kick the ball back to B...

Re: RWC 2023 Fixtures and results

It was a tongue in cheek comment. England lost a game they deserved to win. Blowing up these sort of issues in the press is unfortunate for both sides. I suspect that back in the day if there had been a problem between the players it would have been sorted out on the field rather than in the media....

Re: RWC 2023 Fixtures and results

I think the problem has been that he wasn't allowed to make the changes. The payers were selected by Eddie and there's only so much you're then allowed to do. I picked up on a comment that during the 6 nations, he didn't even have 30 players at some points so couldn't run any training matches. Then ...

Re: RWC 2023 Fixtures and results

I very much doubt Underhill will get a game so it's a bit irrelevant for the matches, but he knows the squad better so will better in training. Fit and firing he's a great player though.

3 Game ban for Curry.

While no citation for others!

So that's just 3 players now serving tackling bans....
