Re: Lions 2021

SA also very carefully and skilfully controlled the clock so that the Lions' superior fitness was no longer a factor. That’s new one on me 😂 Is that like in the first test when Owen Farrell was taking 90 seconds for kicks? From "The Times" Wed 4th August : "Warren Gatland will urge the referee to c...

Re: Youngsters v Seniors Which is the strongest team?

Interesting thought experiment. I tend to side with the American humourist P J O'Rourke who said "Age and guile beat youth and a bad haircut".

Re: Jabs required for WR?

The issue for me is that some will not want to comply. We have poster(s) on here that edge to the 'hoax/antivax' side and I know they are not alone in refusing measures. We also have a large number of vulnerable people, often members of the same group! As I anticipate a small surge in infection not...

Re: Rassie vs The World

I feel for him on the Watson one though,it was shoulder hence yellow. That WASN'T a tough decision ,if we can't trust officials to get these easy decisions right then we are in trouble This shows a complete lack of understanding about decision making - particularly under pressure. ALL experts make ...

Re: Place kick position & trigonometry

The processing of height, weight and trajectory to catch a thrown ball, even a perfectly round one lobbed gently, is daunting yet we do it with ease and unconsciously, yet few of us could manage that calculation consciously. I'm sure, however that a smart piece of kit on a laptop could show the best...

Re: Jabs required for WR?

If, as has been suggested, it is only grounds over 20,000 capacity (the logic of that defeats me - surely in a ground half that size people still in close proximity and 10,000 people still a sizeable chunk)..how many premiership grounds apart from us would be affected.? Ashton Gate, Wuss? Not Saints...

Re: Lions 2021

Can this tour continue? There is now serious unrest and disorder - looting and violence. And lots of South Africans carry weapons.
You say Covid, I say rioting - let's call the whole thing off.

Jack van Poortvliet

Young Jack awarded "Player of the tournament" in the U20 six nations. Was captain for and won all 5 games. Well done him!

Re: Why I dislike soccer ball.

I agree, Chris about Paddy Jackson, but note that Sale had to drop him after a fan revolt. The problem with soccer is that there is always violence, intimidation and an increase in domestic violence (can't put my hand on the reference for that but peer reviewed pukka paper). In all the years of Twic...

I'm not sure why people are writing Harry Wells off so early. One game, he was vigorous and certainly didn't disgrace himself. Stood tall at the front of the driving mauls. My money is on a second appearance.

i entirely agree. Plus the usual drunken fighting and arrests (50, for common assault, Section 4 and assault police) and enormous amounts of litter.

Total dominance by England U 20s. They have the Triple Crown and can seal the Grand Slam if they beat Italy next week. Final score at the Arms Park: Wales 3 England 45.
There is some real talent coming through.

Perhaps, in the face of evidence, (The last 6N for example) Eddie's changed his mind. I know "U turns" are a criminal offence in the media but the rational still change their minds in the light of new information.
