Re: ANOTHER WAVE OF COVID 19?

I also rather suspect that the actual number of cases is way more than the published figures. I know of 20 or so people who have had an illness that presented with covid symptoms in the last couple of months. Only one of those was actually tested, so only she will appear as an official victim. Now,...

Re: Provisional Premiership Return Date ?

New Zealand are bringing back rugby on June 13th, the country with one of the most strict lockdown rules (too strict in my opinion but that’s beside the point). Simply the matter is that money talks, if the players are within a controlled environment and don’t contract coronavirus then I see no iss...

Re: New Kit

I would just put letters on the back of our shirts & be done with it. Nothing stopping us going back to more traditional design of shirt, it would certainly be a good seller, potentially very sensible coming out of this crisis. I would prefer this but I believe when professionalism and TV sponsorsh...

Re: J. MAY ESQ.

The concerns over contracts are; 1) If the season is extended does the player take up the new contract immediately and potentially play against his old club? (This also means that the club that started the season doesn't finish it in terms of registration) 2) If the old club insists he stays and ful...

Re: Ticket Refunds

Whether this season is a write-off or not, I think those of us that can afford to do so should not ask for refunds to help the club. (actually, thinking about it that must be everyone who bought a ticket. You wouldn't buy a ticket unless you could afford it, right? I mean, the money was already comm...

Re: New World Rugby Law Trials

Yep - that’s my recollection of rucking but I think in the modern day it just means pushing the opposition off the ball whilst it’s on floor. I would be happy if we saw more of that rather than missiling and players off their feet and past the ball which seems de rigeur these days I agree. It's jus...

Re: New World Rugby Law Trials

Other arriving players (Law 15): 5 – An arriving player must be on their feet and join from behind their offside line. 6 – A player may join alongside but not in front of the hindmost player. 10 – Possession may be won either by rucking or by pushing the opposing team off the ball. I'd be intereste...

Re: Players asked to take pay cuts!

It does make me smile, though through gritted teeth, how all the buccaneering, free-market, get government off our back, reduce-taxes entrepreneurs are so quick to demand the government gives them a handout. A handout from people who paid PAYE and didn't salt away their earnings offshore. Employer ...

Re: Ealing threatening legal action

If I remember correctly, the RFU ruled that Saracens "WILL be relegated" and presumably, nothing that has happened subsequently will/can alter that.

Re: Players asked to take pay cuts!

Brittania Hotels (Pontin's Holiday Camps) dismissed all their staff forthwith but then "generously" took them back under the government 80% pay scheme. They will, however, not add anything themselves to the tax payers' contribution to their staff. Wetherspoons now refuse to pay suppliers until pubs ...
