Re: Provisional Premiership Return Date ?

Perhaps we may have 2,500 per game as others have postulated.
You can imagine the scene in all the other clubs.
"Hey boss, we can have 2,500 supporters!"
"Gee, where are we going to find that many?"

Re: Saracens Vs Stormers

"Fancy ending a sentence with a preposition!" This is something up with which I will not put! Presumably Saracens are not busy enough finishing the 19/20 season and starting the 20/21 season and have sufficient players to do that, and lose internationals and play this extra game. I'm an amateur magi...

Re: How times have changed..

Back on track: 1. No substitutes unless neutral doctor says player unfit to continue. Players would be slimmer and fitter having to compete for full 80 minutes. Game would slow in 2nd half allowing more breaks and opportunities. 2. Return of the ruck. Players must be on their feet and compete for th...

Re: Manu Tuilagi

It may be 300k from Sale PLUS 200k from Tigers as they are forced to complete the contract. This story has been in the Times and elsewhere. No wonder Diamond is so happy.

Re: Players asked to take pay cuts!

Thank you. Although under-capitalisation doesn't seem to bother hedge funds who like high dividends and funding through loans - but enough.

Re: Players asked to take pay cuts!

Probably you will do what I did back in the eighties, the company I worked for had not given a proper rise for a few years as they were using profits to pay increased dividends to the beneficiaries of deceased major shareholders in an attempt to reduce the share price to a level that enabled the M....

Re: Players asked to take pay cuts!

I'd forgotten just how far the modern game has moved from it's amateur days. Watched the Tigers v Gosforth game and at times it looked more like Hallaton bottle-kicking! Must remember that they didn't train full time and had jobs, some doing manual labour. I don't think anyone wants to go back to t...

Re: Salary Cap changes

Professionalism brought some useful changes but has done far more harm than good. This is just another nail in the coffin of what used to be a great game but is now somewhere players openly talk of hurting opponents, where drug abuse to assist body building is increasingly common among young, vulner...

Re: ANOTHER WAVE OF COVID 19?

I also rather suspect that the actual number of cases is way more than the published figures. I know of 20 or so people who have had an illness that presented with covid symptoms in the last couple of months. Only one of those was actually tested, so only she will appear as an official victim. Now,...

Re: Provisional Premiership Return Date ?

New Zealand are bringing back rugby on June 13th, the country with one of the most strict lockdown rules (too strict in my opinion but that’s beside the point). Simply the matter is that money talks, if the players are within a controlled environment and don’t contract coronavirus then I see no iss...

Re: New Kit

I would just put letters on the back of our shirts & be done with it. Nothing stopping us going back to more traditional design of shirt, it would certainly be a good seller, potentially very sensible coming out of this crisis. I would prefer this but I believe when professionalism and TV sponsorsh...
