Re: No tackling at schools debate

I played school and club rugby from a young age. Playing prop then 2nd row then 8. Never broke a bone. I did however, break my arm in an 800 race age 10 when I tripped and got trampled on in the 1st corner!!!!!

Re: This is why I'm dreading the Lions!

The perceived best players aren't necessarily the same dogged bunch that know how to win pressure games by working harder and doing the unpleasant unnoticed unappreciated stuff. These talents will be invaluable against the AB's. It is unrealistic to think they can be beaten at there own game on ther...

Re: Manu to leave

If manu could get fit and stay fit i have no doubt that he would be worth every penny. I hope this happens. However, my theory on manu (which is not my theory at all, but is in fact the theory of a close friend's very well conected associate, but in the interests of anonymity, it is a theory which i...

Re: Are Chiefs the Foxes of Rugby ?

Errrrr no! Had a great season, well done. But they have spent a few quid, pretty sensibly over a period of a few years. They deserve the credit for their achievements but nothing like city. They were in no danger of being relegated before the season started and didn't win it when the season finished...

I have heard a rumour that JDV will be signing for us, wouldn't it be great to see him in a tigers shirt.

Re: Marler pulls out of summer tour

I always see him as a player that has tried to use intimidation as a part of his game, funky hair cuts, beards and Ill discipline. I'm afraid intimidation doesn't work against top players. If his I'll discipline and petulance continues I'm pretty sure after a couple more bans he is a shoe in for Eng...

Re: On a positive note

I am very positive. Last year we missed out on the prem final, in my opinion it was the culmination of dross rugby and a low point after 5 years of decline. To be clear mine is a comment on the type of rugby played as well as the results. I was sick of watching boring rugby, I was sick of watching u...

Re: Team vs Wasps

I watched the game in the pub with my footie loving mates. I tried to explain how massive home advantage is in rugby, fell on deaf ears. Turns out I'm an egg chasing, him flask drinking, tartan blanket in the stands wearing :censored: head!! Who would have thought it!!! Still, I expected a tough gam...

Re: Teams up v Munster

Munster fan on the terrace- fair play, we have been beaten home and away but, neither Munster or tigers will even come close to winning this competition. Well, Munster won't but I'm sure tigers have a shout. We have beaten the top14 champs haven't we? I agree we are outsiders but for the first time ...

Re: Tigers chants & songs

It would be great if we had the Munster songs in our locker, and the type of traditional song that the Welsh droids have, no question. But we don't. And a tradition cannot be consciously invented, it's like history, anything that is forced is not palpable. Ask America, a country that has no history ...

Re: Tigers chants & songs

I knew two guys, they may have been brothers. Who I shared the odd pint with at the wheatsheaf in whetstone. They told me this anecdote, feel free to correct any errors but this is as I remember.... They had tickets to the European cup final against Munster, I think it was in Paris. Their tickets tu...

Re: What changes if any?

Change only if it is an improvement or a necessity. I can't see us bringing in anyone who is not 100% fit or fit but not battle hardened. I can't see us bringing in burns for example. If Willian's is fit then he must play, if he is not then bell will play. Next week, when we return to the league, th...
