Re: This Weekend in Europe

Just seen the Saracens XXIII v Munster, and there are 20 English players, 2 Scots and only 1 Saffa!! I wonder when the last time was that there were so many English players in the match day squad?

Re: Tigers v Calvisano - Teams up!

Reckon England and Sarries missed a trick not focusing Itoje at 6. I’d have liked to see Itoje at 8, but sadly, unlikely to happen. I’m not sure if you’re joking, if you’re not explain why you see Itoje as an 8, he’s got a good handoff and is athletic but is surely too tall to be an 8, of course th...

Re: Transfers and Rumours Non-Tigers 2019-20

Ben Smith (age 33 and 84 All Black caps) and Luke Whitelock (age 28 and 6 AB caps) have finally arrived in Pau. They didn't play in Pau's thrashing in Cardiff on Saturday but maybe there'll play in the return fixture on Friday evening. More to the point, will they be facing Tigers on the third weeke...

Re: This Weekend in Europe

Did anyone watch the Toulouse v Montpellier game? You’d have been impressed with Wayne Barnes’ French! There was a range of nationalities on the pitch including French, SA, NZ, Oz, Georgia, Scottish, Fiji and he coped admirably! Toulouse hooker Julien Marchand, must surely be the front runner to be ...

Re: This Weekend in Europe

Toulouse beat Montpellier 23-9 in the rain and have a good hold on their group. However, the conditions dominated and they only managed to score two tries, both by Ntamack. Cheslin Kolbe came on as a replacement in the second half to a warm welcome from the crowd. Maybe he'll be in the starting XV f...

Re: This Weekend in Europe

The Saints v Leinster result tells us that the gulf between Tigers and top flight European teams has never been so wide. It makes me wonder if Tigers will ever get back to being the force in Europe they used to be.

Re: This Weekend in Europe

You’ll know that some French clubs give low priority to the Challenge Cup, Agen and Brive, for example. However, I think that Toulon will give it all they’ve got.

Re: Murphy coaches and relegation

How long can we keep hearing the same post-match interview of "I'm gutted, disappointed, we were second best out there, we don't know where it went wrong..." before something gets done? My prediction is three more Prem matches. If we lose all three he will go. C’mon Chiefs, Quins and Bears! Then we...

Re: Championship Rugby

The way that Tigers are currently playing means that relegation is highly likely, unless the changes that we supporters have been clamouring for are brought about, and pretty damned quick! Talking about other clubs who are in similar straits to Tigers is totally irrelevant. There are only three whee...

Re: Tigers v Calvisano

Let’s hope there’ll be a sizeable crowd, although I fear that many regulars will have other priorities. It’s at times like these that the players really need their supporters to get behind them.
