Re: What is your view of Leicester Tigers as a club?
Good team with a proud history in the game, but for the last few years seem to have lost that bit of magic that made them a "great" team. There was once a time when every team in Europe feared to play the Tigers, sadly that's not the case any longer. The same thing is starting to happen to...

Re: Europe gone for this year.....................
Anyone who travels to a game expecting a 5 point win deserves to be gutted . I went there hoping for a 5 point win and enjoyed the first half and was disappointed with the first 30 minutes of the second half. In the end you have to give some credit to the defence of Aironi at the end. The Italian t...

Niall Morris
Haven't been able to keep up with the English league this year, too busy, although I see Leicester haven't faired well without their Internationals. How's Niall Morris getting on over there, has he had any gametime?

Re: Salary cap and Europe and Ireland......
B OD's salary is significantly lower than £500k per annum. No player in Ireland is on that much. The international players in Ireland are on about an average of €300k and that is limited to about 20 players. After that there is a significant drop in pay scale to the normal provincial players, aside...

Re: Team news - Leinster v Leicester Tigers. merged thread.
I get where you are going with this but if you seriously leave Nacewa behind Hamilton there is something wrong. He has been the player of the season at Leinster and probably our best player for the last 3 years...Would walk into the Irish team ahead of a fit Kearney or G Murphy but he's played 2 min...

Re: Leinster vs Tigers
The Leinster team to face Leicester Tigers in Saturday's Heineken Cup Quarter Final at the Aviva Stadium (KO: 6pm) has been named. Sean O'Brien will make his 50th Leinster appearance in Saturday's game and he continues in the back-row alongside Jamie Heaslip and Kevin McLaughlin. Leo Cullen leads th...

Re: Here we go lads it's the big one.
Munster v Leinster The biggest rivalry in club rugby is kicking off again tomorrow night. Don't you mean provincial rugby? Correct. They play in the Mickey Mouse League! They're still clubs with a smaller pool of players to choose from than their English counterparts, but I agree with you about the...

Here we go lads it's the big one.
Munster v Leinster The biggest rivalry in club rugby is kicking off again tomorrow night and believe me it's no coincidence that they play each other every year right before the HC weekend. It'll be available to view on bbc iplayer but it'll be in gaelic. Teams LEINSTER: 15: Isa Nacewa 14: Shane Hor...

Re: "just a real hatred" - O'Connell's motivation tactics.....
Silly thread this, of course we like to beat the English because of all the history but there isn't any real hatred. Irish and English people tend to get on very well these days the most out of any of the home nations I'd say. In fact I've never met an English person I didn't get on with and think w...

Re: "just a real hatred" - O'Connell's motivation tactics.....
Rugby is the one game that unites the whole of Ireland-- a country where people from differing religions have slaughtered each other-- in the name of religion -- over the decades.. This , of course is completely foreign to the likes of Ashton, whose naive comments incited the Irish and O Connell---...

Re: Leinster vs. Leicester - the stats
one thing to remember they dont have Rocky any more who destroyed us in Edinburgh and we have Thomas Waldrom which should up our defenders beaten and metres carried stats. not knocking them as they are an excellent team just want to support our guys. :smt002 Sean O'Brien v Thomas Waldrom Stats 6 Ma...

He can pass he just doesn't need to, it's unnecessary if you can just run over people.Bill W (2) wrote:jockstrap wrote:O'Brien has been the player of the tournament so far this season, he's not human.
