Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

And a few matches previously some were suggesting Whitely had moved ahead of Youngs. I do regret losing Edwards as I regret losing Ben White in my opinion due to the unnecessary signing of Wigglesworth, but we fans can have opinions without having to make decisions, I can imagine the club thinking ...

Re: Black Lions match

LE18: The number 10 was that Luka Matkava as he is only 22 listed as being scrum & fly half, starting as scrum half in Rugby Europe Under-18 Championship in 2019. So I assume he then moved the Fly Half as from 2022, he played there & then in 2023 he played in all Georgia's game in the 2023 ...

Re: Black Lions match

It was a very enjoyable game, pity not many there to see the lads who put in a great effort. I found it difficult to pick out players to individually praise, we played in red with A-O and beyond on their backs and I found it very difficult to read or see who was who, especially as I didnt recognise ...

Re: Cockers thoughts on the Prem etc

I think Steve Diamond would have brought that passion we need, yes he would be more contoversial but he possibly has the drive we need.

Re: Tigers v Sale (A) - Premiership - Friday 10th May 2024 - KO: 7:45pm

Currently we are 8th in the Premiership no chance of the playoffs but we need to secure a Champions Cup place for next season at the moment we are reliant on Gloucester NOT winning the Challenge Trophy, I don't think they will but they are a decent side coming into some sort of form and I would not...

Thanks for all your replies, not sure I will remember the Southern Hemisphere ones but my UK geography is OK for our teams. :smt023

Re: Craze for alternative club names

Am I alone in being hacked off by the growth of clubs adding an alliterative suffix to their names? Usually in the form of a large, carnivorous animal eg Sale SHARKS, Bristol BEARS, Leicester LIONS (in Nat 1) etc. (Plus the former Worcester Warriors). Presumably it's part of a marketing/PR exercise...

Re: Tigers v Bristol (H) - Premiership - Saturday 27th April 2024 - KO: 15-00

I think kicking for touch would have been the best option, as setting up the lineout would have run around 30 secs off the clock and Bristol attacking from their 22 off first phase was a much greater challenge than from open play. 2.10 is a long time to pick and go with the risk of sealing off and ...

Re: Tigers v Sale (A) - Premiership - Friday 10th May 2024 - KO: 7:45pm

I think Steward should only play as a 15, reading between the lines in last weeks DT interview, that is his prefered position, he also wants to practise what he was told to do by SB and he cant do that from the wing and still regain his England position. We want a happy Freddie at Tigers not one who...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

I think many people underestimate how difficult it is to keep the ball for 3 minutes in those circumstances without infringing or making an error. I'm curious, how early would people advocate "sticking it up the jumper" for when defending a slim lead? 5 minutes? 10 minutes? How early do y...

Re: Doom and Gloom

One step at a time. Not bothered about which European competition we are in as we need to finish this season well. Secondly fitness is an issue, then whoever is fitness coach has to be brave enough to see help: I would as I’d at to be the best at the job for the sake of the team! At Saints last wee...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Sorry that Whitley took flack from the fans, he is young but the question is why did he come over to the Crumbie and argue, he should have stayed away over in the middle? Presumably he came over to thank the fans for attending the game, copped an earful, and responded, as emotions were no doubt hig...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

I texted my family and said if he is selected again im giving up my season ticket. Wasn’t Whiteley decent in earlier games ? Seems like he’s copping the flack for a collective effort ? He's been average to date. His commitment in defence is his main plus point. The choice and execution of the box k...
