Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE V: Borthwick Strikes Back

Well I am over the moon Freddie Burns is back. If Borthwick didn't think he was good enough he wouldn't have signed him. Looking forward to next season. :smt041 :smt041 :smt041 My thoughts as well. Looking forward to seeing Freddie back in a Tigers shirt, which IMO he served the Tigers very well an...

Re: South African Tigers

I have no issue with any nationality playing for the Tiger as long as it does not negate the progression of young players within the Tigers set-up aspiring to get to the 1st XV and even an England shirt. The plan, according to SB, is to put the Tigers back at the top in all competitions which ain't ...

Re: Next up London Irish - home - 5th March 2021

For a side missing big ball carriers and 1/2 backs I was impressed with that performance Zack had a really good game obviously changed his approach tp the game. The yellows were pretty much what we see week in week out so no real gripe from me. As LI, they have a really good side and it was good to ...

Re: BRISTOL vs TIGERS - Sat 27 Feb 21 (1300)

With no "relly" this season the pressure is off for all teams and therefore pride and passion is to be played for With the need to rotate players, this game is a really good opportunity for SB to see whom is up for it against a side that can kill you off in a flash. That said, on paper Briss should ...

Well, I am looking forward to next season. This one has gone out the window, but hey-ho, safety first.
+1 :smt023. While I am "champing at the bit" to get to WR, next season will be early enough for me too.

Re: Sort the tackle area out, please!

Forgive me, I only played a bit of schoolboy rugby and only watched a bit in the old days. When people talk about bringing back "rucking" I believe they mean players running their studs down the back/front of an opponent lying on the wrong side of the ruck. Is that correct? Correct, it had to be a ...

Re: Sort the tackle area out, please!

Bring back rucking for player safety! - an oxymoron if ever i've heard one. The only reason lineouts are unsafe is because refs don't enforce the 1m channel rule, that space should not be occupied by either side until the ball is bought to ground. Another reason to start applying laws and not ignor...

Re: Sort the tackle area out, please!

Bring back rucking and ban hands in there, ban lifting in the lineout as well if we are talking player safety. Bring back rucking for player safety! - an oxymoron if ever i've heard one. Re: England v Italy - 13th Feb at 14:15

I've started a separate thread for this weekend's match against Italy, so the Six Nations 2021 thread can be for just non-England related stuff if that's okay. I think Jones has got to be really careful with the game this weekend and can't take it lightly, as Squidge rightly points out in his lates...

Re: Ringfencing almost upon us ?

IMO due to the disruption of the past 12 months and that it is likely that it will be another 12 months before "normal' returns to something similar to what we would like it to be, ringfencing maybe the 'reset' that is required to put rugby back on an even keel for everyone employed in the business?...

Re: Sale game moved - Teams up

3 pints watching some very poor half-back play were a waste of good beer- thought it was Henry's worst game by a long long way. Very few good kicks out of hand but more important for me was his decision making - kicking when we are just outside of the 22 makes no sense whatsoever to me and his cros...

Re: Paolo Odogwu

Paolo Odogwu always impressed me in the few games he played for us and thoroughly deserves his call up. As a youngster with us he produced a couple of excellent turn overs and had the strength of Manu but also had(has) a side step off each foot!Hope he gets a chance to impress at the next level. I’...

Re: Freddie Burns coming back to Tigers?

Freddie is a good player, but why is he at a 2nd tier semi-pro Japanese side sitting round all morning waiting for half his team mates to finish work at the Toyota factory so he can train? Strange career choice even if the money were half decent. Would I have him back? - no - Tigers need to back a ...
