Re: Ampthill anyone?

Could there be a greater fall from grace in the modern era? I sense Ampthill may change venues, but we shall have to see. Why should they? In any case it won't happen, will it?

Re: Bristol v Tigers

Having been a supporter all of my life, (since 1968), I can't remember the time when I did not anticipate a victory, every next game. (Irrespective of the previous result). Of course, it never worked like that, but now, I anticipate a defeat every next match. That is sad. Take that to the next Board...

Re: How to Keep Manu at Tigers

If he chooses to leave Tigers after all that the Club has done for him, then maybe the Club should reconsider its position regarding keeping absolute faith with players whose contributions (in game time over a number of years) have been so minimal owing to persistent injury. He owes us a lot, and lo...

Re: Tuilagi has knee operation

I think we are approaching the time when the balance sheet needs to be addressed. There is, thus far, too much on the debit side, and I hope (as we all do) that some credits will start to appear. Tough decisions to be taken by those in charge if we have yet another season on the fitness table.

Re: Exeter Chiefs the new (old?) Tigers?

My other half was at the Chiefs v Tigers game on New Years Eve. As a club member she had good access to the players post match - talking to TTTE, she asked him how we was liking it at Chiefs - he said he loves it, the club, the ethos, everything (although there are rumours he will be moving back to...

Re: Technical Question

My thoughts :smt017 :smt017 are:

1.As the attacking player simply kicked the ball away, and in doing so it crossed the touch line and out of play, then -

2. It surely :smt045 must be a defensive line-out either on the 5m line, or beyond, if the ball crossed the line further down the pitch.

Re: Technical Question

I am not sure whether anyone has replied who is a "Referee", but hope that if they do they announce themselves as such. After all, it's the Referee's problem.....

Re: Technical Question

Slight problem - ball was kicked out by an attacking player, and not necessarily on the full.

Re: Technical Question

Yes, but my immediate thought in response is there has actually been no touch down.

My guess is that the Referee has a sudden hamstring injury, and hands over immediate responsibility to another of the officials.

Technical Question

Was just thinking (yes, dangerous). Player dives into corner, and crosses the try line. No problem with being in touch. Tackler gets up, moves away. Attacking player, on back, gets up, but forgets to touch down. He kicks the ball away, thinking he's great, :smt007 and the ball goes into touch. Refer...

If it's alcohol related, then it's disgraceful, in my opinion. Professional sportsman, given an opportunity to train with the elite, and this is how he shows how grateful he is? :smt013

Re: Jokes revived

A man dies and his wife phones the Leicester Mercury to arrange for his obituary to be printed. She is put through to the correct department and tells them that she doesn’t have much money, so she just wants the obituary to say “Alf is dead”. “That’s quite short”, says the man at the paper, “but if ...

Re: Jokes revived

A 65 year old man had just driven on to the motorway when his car phone rang. Answering it, he found his wife on the other end of the line. "Bert", she said urgently. "Be careful, I've just heard on the news that there's a car driving the wrong way up the motorway". "Hell", he replied, "It's not jus...

An elderly couple were having a significant anniversary. A wish was granted to the husband. I would like my wife to be 20 years younger. The next day he woke to find himself 20 yrs older. :smt022
