Re: Congratulations Tommy Reffell

So the Wales rule is that after you are capped you cannot sign a contract outside of Wales to remain eligible. So prior to being capped if he were to extend it means longer till he would have to move to Wales. Yes theoretically means he would be less available for training camps, but if good enough...

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2020-21

Found some real form as a 15. Hogg is obviously the Scottish incumbent, but being able to cover centre and fullback won’t harm his chances of a test recall Did he?! He was woefully caught out of position a lot and defensively he was shocking. Good going forward though Saw a lot of the Quins games w...

One of the worse incidents is of course Michael Schumacher who sustained his life changing injuries while skiing down a black run
he was also retired, still tragic but I don't think Ferrari or Mercedes would have permitted him to do so whilst an active driver

Re: Rugby players transport

I guess when you're paying Premiership football salaries you can be more demanding, but if you're a rugby player on 70k a year it's really not enough to be told what you can't do in your spare time. really for most of them I would ask what job would pay them £70k a year outside of Rugby if they got...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Steve Borthwick and the Chamber of Oval Park

Not sure but the 'tribal provinces' in the unified Irish rugby map are familiar to Irish sports culture. The GAA factor? imagine if we had regions, if East midlands was based here would Saints fans cheer for them? Or if it was there would our fans cheer for them? Or would those fans simply be lost?...

surprised he's allowed to ride a motor bike, even an electric one, footballers are contractually prohibited from doing so, same with jet ski's on their holiday and other things deemed too risky Possibly different for rugby players. Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Steve Borthwick and the Chamber of Oval Park

Lots of chat about the province system. Worth noting that it hasn’t really worked in Wales or Scotland but has in Ireland. Once reason for that I guess- fans go to the games in Ireland. I think another reason is that in Ireland the rugby union and the provinces work together. That isn’t always the ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Steve Borthwick and the Chamber of Oval Park

the results since they brought this in suggest its hurting the national team too and it must be limiting the player pool as internationals who would be in England or France are taking up a spot where someone else could break through.

And its clearly not helping the regions themselves

The annoying thing about Wales is why does Bigger get a pass but not Reffell?
The crazy thing is he's the welsh captain this 6N's and he would've missed all the extra training days
Rees-Zamit too, bet he’s loving the thought of having to join the regions at the end of this contract

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Steve Borthwick and the Chamber of Oval Park

I'm hoping with all the talk of changes in the Welsh set up they get rid of that illegal selection rule, or at the very least make a deal with Prem Rugby to have the same access as England do to players It’s no different to the England selection rules you have to play for an English club or you don...
