I'm not sure I rate Costelow particularly highly but then again I was seeing him behind an awful Welsh pack

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

This is personal opinion, but i think we will only see a centre coming in for sure, as that is the major hole there. TH i think will be covered by Tim Hoyt, which as 4th choice i am comfortable with. The only question is whether another lock or back row comes in. Personally the answer to that is wh...

Re: Leicester Tigers Women 2023/24 - Vicky Macqueen in 'The Magnificent Fifteen'

A tough first half saw Tigers with a lot to do in the second period but a battling display saw the side score three tries after the break in a competitive, physical Allianz Cup fixture with Harlequins. Natasha Jones kicks us off into the cool, cloudy Leicestershire midday sky. It’s the hosts that ho...

I'd love to hear what McKeller thinks about Shilcock in the starting XV with Pollard, if he is a big fan of that then we may not be looking for a right wing as that becomes the obvious place for Steward, if he sees it as a needs must situation currently then we need another RW as a matter of priorit...

Olowefela and Odogwu should be included in the chat about wingers that didn't make it here, the latter becoming an Italian international Once again, you have the situation of defensive fraility or large egos (2 former u20 10s come to mind) at a young stage, and clubs deciding departure is best for ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

they are good players but if keeping them meant losing someone like Carnduff who has the potential to be better I think I'd lean towards letting them go, rather keep them though. I wonder what's going to happen with Illione too, when he starts his doctor training he's going to be really busy and how...

Re: Leinster mind games begin? - Champions Cup (A) - Saturday 06th April 2024 - KO:8:00pm

Depends what other cover you have on the bench and on the pitch. If Ford is starting, I suspect that Marcus Smith would be used as bench fullback cover and so no spot for Steward. All seems somewhat of a moot point in any event. It is fact that he was not selected in the match day squad for the sec...

Re: Leinster mind games begin? - Champions Cup (A) - Saturday 06th April 2024 - KO:8:00pm

Am I alone in thinking it strange that Freddie was dropped after his best attacking/counter attacking game in an England jersey? He was, by some margin, England's brightest spark against Wales. Should have made or scored a couple of tries but for tripping over his own feet having done the hard work...

Re: Leinster mind games begin? - Champions Cup (A) - Saturday 06th April 2024 - KO:8:00pm

Exactly this. England, and possibly even Tigers, want that multi faceted player at full back and I would love to see Steward develop his game to fill that roll for both teams. The problem is, a player who plays exclusively one position in the backs (outside of 9 & 10) is not likely to get a ben...

Re: Leinster mind games begin? - Champions Cup (A) - Saturday 06th April 2024 - KO:8:00pm

I don't want him at 12, I don't want him at any specific position I want the most impactful 15 on the field, his playmaking clearly needs work for a modern 15, tactical kicking, more than just the kick tennis version, probably needs work, we know he has a massive boot so maybe taking some longer dis...

because he's still a young player who yes is world class under the high ball, however has yet to show he's international class in many other aspects that we need from 15, people think he can but needs someone to help bring it out in him, teams already negate his biggest asset. People want him to add...
