Re: We need to talk about Handré
All our southern hemisphere internationals look a little battered bruised and tired and that is hardly surprising. They played the domestic season here last year, then the southern hemisphere internationals then went straight into world cup camps and then the competition. All three played the full p...

Re: European and South African teams in Champions' Cup 2023/24
Regarding costs and travel issues I have just read an article about Newcastle Falcons who having travelled to South Africa for a game, which isn't ideal with their financial problems, had their return flight I think from Cape Town cancelled, and have eventually returned home two days late having had...

Re: Squad sizes capped??
Reports in todays press suggest that ourselves Sale, Quins, and Saints already comply with this new ruling. Apparently Bath have the highest squad number at 70 which does seem a little ridiculous despite the deep pockets of their benefactor. As has been suggested earlier it might simply come down to...

Re: Is it Time to Get Rid of Twickenham?
For anyone living north of Watford trips to Twickenham are becoming financially unviable. My son and I looked at the Autumn internationals for the coming season. Due to kickoff times etc, the only fixture we can realistically get down to and back in the day is the one against Japan. The only tickets...

Re: Red Roses vs Ireland @ Welford Road - Sunday 24th April - 12-00pm Kick Off
I am sure you have caught me out with this one, so I am going to adopt the approach the Scots take to anyone South African. I am going to claim her as a Yorkshire girl on the basis that her mum had a photograph of someone who had a friend who had once bought a bus ticket in Wakefield. That way she q...

Chez, thanks for the heads up about Emily's 100th cap. I know she plays for Loughbrough, but she is a Yorkshire lass, from Wakefield, so I have to claim her for God's County.

Guy Porter red card - Update - 3 week ban
I appreciate that player safety should be paramount in all we do in this game, but I really struggle to understand why Guy Porter got a red card today. Watching on TV, two players who seemed to be unaware of the presence of each other clashed heads, and Porter came off the best from the collision. T...

Re: Genge leaving
This story has been bubbling in the press for weeks, and in the Telegraph today they comment that Bristol will announce his signing in the next few days. Very disappointing to see him go, but unfortunately that is professional rugby for you. I am sure he will give of his best for the remainder of hi...

Lets hope for a great turnout of the Welford Road faithful to support them in their run in to the world cup.

Re: Red Roses
I have to agree on the quality of the performance by the Roses, particularly up front where the whole pack performed tremendously well taking the New Zealand line out and scrum apart. Unfortunately the quality of the officials was poor once more. It seems that the only quality officials in womens ru...

Re: 13 team league 21/22
Can anyone tell me who in their right mind came up with the idea of having thirteen teams in a league. Is this going to be rectified next season by promoting one side and relegating two, or are we stuck with this for the foreseeable future. I always looked forward in a way to the last round of games...

Re: Manu
After all the help and support which Tigers gave him through long periods of injury, and the odd amount of indiscipline and anti social behaviour, I was disgusted with him when he walked away from the club due to financial issues. Because of the way he plays he is always going to suffer injuries of ...

Re: How do you rate this season?
For me we have improved vastly this season. The team doesn't roll over when things don't go well. Last season if we went behind in a game we usually lost. This year the team have stood up and battled on. That for me has been the greatest difference. The other point I would make is that it is great t...

Re: Wigglesworth
I am getting to the stage where I find it difficult to challenge a Borthwick decision. The difference he has made to the squad this season has been immense. However I was a little confused and disappointed to see him start with Wigglesworth last night and bench a man who could have easily been start...

Re: Ben Youngs out of Lions Tour?
After his outstanding performance in the second half on Friday night, I felt he was a Lions slot in, and probably first choice scrum half. Having said that I applaud his decision, and wouldn't be surprised in the circumstances if others follow his decision. I hope it doesn't happen but I fear proble...
