Re: Saracens Cap Investigation

I'll just chuck a couple of tweets in... Guy Mercer: "For what it’s worth I disagree with the cap. If an owner wants to pay people let them pay. Risk for players is huge & people should earn as much as possible while they can. The cap squeezes the middle out of squads so teams load up on l...

Re: Wade makes an impact on 1st game

Let's hope the NFL teams don't suddenly think they should all jump on the band wagon and start offering players like May silly money to switch. We will be left with a league full of players like Dan Cole and watching rugby in slow motion!

Re: No Dan Cole in the England training squad

I never got the fuss about Ford being replaced in the first place on the SA tour. In the first game we scored 39 points. It wasn't that our attack wasn't working but that our forwards were getting dominated. Danny comes in for the final game, which was a dead rubber, and we score 25 points and he is...

Re: Tigers has done Manu a disservice - George Ford

The thing with Manu is when he runs straight at defenders he is likely to be brought down. Sure it will be a big contact but premiership defenders rarely get run over when they have had a chance to line up their weight and shoulder behind the tackle. Ford giving Manu late passes allows him to attack...

Re: Wasps Vs Tigers

I don't think we will lose anything with Thompson at 7. Players are always especially up for playing against their old mates and he will know individual habits that might give him a bit of an edge.

Re: Tigers v Falcons

Probably doesn't help that their home pitch is relatively small. Much easier to find space with your kicks at HQ than Welford Rd.

Re: Murphy wants the job full time

The board can't afford another mistake. They will be praying GM makes a huge success of the role as then they can put off making an outside appointment and avoid the risk of that new appointment failing, again.

Re: Exeter team

Looking down the team lists I wouldn't swap many of our players for theirs. In my eyes a combined team would be dominated by Tigers. If only we could learn how to effectively translate the quality of our individuals into a team performance.

Re: Exeter team

I would be very tempted to start with Toomua. Don't get me wrong, I really like Eastmond, but I would go with Matt for the following reasons: - Whilst he hasn't been in camp it is not as though he will come back rusty. He hasn't been sitting on his backside but playing international rugby (only as ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part Deux

England have a lot of teams playing in their top division so our very best ball players are normally slotted in to the 10 shirt. If England had say 4 teams playing in a top league like they do in the SH then we would probably see more of our skilful ball players coming through in the 12 shirt.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part Deux

Eastmond would also be a very good person to have on the bench. Can cover lots of positions in the back line and he is the sort of player you could bring on and can change a game. This is not only if we are playing catch up but so many times last season we missed out on a bonus point because our sub...
