Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Raging Bull.is right Kelly is a great playmaker and has a physical presence what we need is a speedy partner for him and back up that can also be a tactical change if necessary. Perese, Kata, Woodward could be the answers, a back up to Pollard would be very handy. Shilcock I believe played fullback,...

I agree with Tigris, James is a versatile player who would certainly challenge for a starting position and is a few years younger than Moroni.

Didn't Tom Penney have a stint at Harlequins but returned home. He is certainly a good club player but I don't see how he would improve our team. I want to see us signing either established quality first teamers or young players that we can improve not bulk standard club players that block the devel...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Moroni was not always a starter in his 35 appearances over his two years with us. A good player but in two years with Falcons has only appeared 20 times to me that suggests that at 33 his skills are fading and I don't think he would be an asset as a player for us. We need some one quicker and younge...

Re: Not a new kit Launch.... Tigers Together membership

Tigers creating a two tier supporter group, they already made it clear by they do not value the older long term supporters, this new launch just makes me feel.even less valued. Truly we have lunatics in charge of the asylum.

Re: Dan Mckellar

The target is winning all competitions, acceptable is winning just one. Realistically we need to see clear sign of improvement, top four is the minimum target, top six maybe acceptable.if there are clear signs that we are.on the way up. For me that is a more attractive rugby, although winning in my ...

Re: Karl Dickson

I agree with the comments regarding the improvement in Dickson, he is developing into one of our best referees. I have been watching rugby for a long time and remember early Barnes and Owen, even as experienced referees they still.made some questionable decisions but on the whole were good. Probably...

Re: Dan Mckellar

Unusual comment by the original.poster, I seem to recall that when new coaches have been appointed the normal criticism why are we going for a former player despite the success of Richards, Wells, Howard and Cockerill and of course when you look at other clubs former players are often important to t...

How many people are successful at interview for a job whilst employed elsewhere and while working their notice immediately start working for their new employer, are involved in interviewing and appointing staff even before their new contract starts. I would have thought that more unlikely when movin...

Re: Tigers v Sale (A) - Premiership - Friday 10th May 2024 - KO: 7:45pm

Lineout are so complicated these days, far more so than when I played in times when lifting was illegal. For the onlooker it is often impossible to be certain when a throw goes wrong whether blame lies with the hooker or the choreography of the lineout. I would agree that Charlie Clare is a good bac...

Regarding captaincy I do recall an A League of Premier Cup.match over at Loughborough when I was very impressed with the captaincy of a young Tommy Reffell, not just decision making but the way he moved around encouraging his players some of whom were senior to him.In experience.

Just a thought it is possible that some of the young guys that impressed against Black Knights are still in education and might be in the middle of exams that would have affected their training and availability for selection, I don't suppose that is applicable to Whitcombe or FTT but could be to Kin...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

I am looking forward to announcements of who is being promoted from ourSenior Academy to first team squad and also who will replace them in the Senior Academy squad. Since the creation of our ladies team we hear a lot less about our Academy players and their matches, I do hope our I.T department can...

Re: Law changes coming in to effect 1st July

Why allow a mark from a kick.off, personally I would ban the mark call completely. I can see that we might go back to a kick short of the 22 which will allow the kicking sides forwards to contest the ball. A suggestion might be to enforce offside rules at the kick off, make sure everyone behind them...

Re: New Supporters Forum?

Judging the cap is a fine science, incorporating allowances for England qualified players hoping no-one decides to play for another country and RFU payment for those selected for England, not known at contract decision time. As someone else suggested there needs to be a bit of wriggle toom incase ad...
