Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Steve Borthwick and the Chamber of Oval Park
In days gone by the second row was the second row and the guy now called number eight was lock, not exactly sure when that changed, I think it just sort of evolved. Referring to the Row is a fairly recent thing, like " outside backs " and " back three " and everyone wanting an en...

Tom Manz when playing for the Under 18's same time as Martin Steward etc played in the 2nd Row, he impressed me as a hardworking lock and would I am sure have progressed further were it not for injury and the pandemic which prevented a lot of young players getting any rugby at all. He must have show...

Re: England Squad for down under
Interesting to see six players selected from Bath, they must have had a brilliant season. Pleased to see JVP get a call up and a few others that are not established first choice at their clubs. Opportunity for Jones to learn first hand about some players whilst leaving out a few who he knows inside ...

Re: PRC - Other midweek Matches
The policy then as now was that the assistant coaches took charge of the Premier Cup teams whilst the Head Coaches took a step back, then Mauger stepped back for Geordie to take charge recently Borthwick hands over to Brett Deacon, the competition develops coaches as well as players.

i see Tommy as one of the best 7's in the premiership and he is still improving, MVS is a great player but is he better than Reffell, I don't know we have not seen enough of him to compare but we do know that Tommy is a better player now than he was at the start of the season and in my opinion is fu...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Aled Walters and the Philosopher's Stone
Tackling at full back is often when faced with two attackers not always one on one, also Hegarty has played some of the time as 10 where tackles are often against bigger heavier players and success can be judged by delaying forward momentum or preventing an offload. Whilst not in anyway criticising ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Aled Walters and the Philosopher's Stone
I am delighted by the Watson signing but i think he will need game time before we see the best of him so I would not expect him to be involved in Autumn Internationals although possibly in the training squads. Simmons I really rated and welcome him returning as a utility back but I expect him not to...

Re: Premiership Semi Final Play Off
Damned if I know how they think that but some do, I was talking to a guy just yesterday that said that he wasn't prepared to pay £40 extra for his seat, I questioned that amount and learned that he had ignored the time scale given for season ticket holders to buy at a reduced price and was upset tha...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Aled Walters and the Philosopher's Stone
I don't think there is any restriction on a player coach playing A League or Premier Cup matches so we could have Youngs, JVP, Simmons and Edwards to cover Premiership matches if and only if Wigs decided not to participate at the senior level and a very experienced player on the pitch to mentor youn...

Re: Premiership Semi Final Play Off
There were special prices for season ticket holders against Leinster but some supporters thought the game should be on the season ticket, no doubt the same people will say the same again.

Re: Decisions Decisions
Scott 1 accuses me of a poor attitude, strange that I am writing this just after reading Scott 1's reply to a studied and sensible comment by Tiglon; me a poor attitude? My poor attitude has me spending far more than I can sensibly afford watching Tigers over many years, I have traveled all over Eur...

Re: Decisions Decisions
I am a season ticket holder, when the game is announced as a season ticket holder I have a limited time to secure my seat at a discounted price which I am pleased to do. At the end of this limited time the tickets go on general sale at a price in line with matches of this standing. Not all tickets s...

Re: Decisions Decisions
Tickets being given to school children requires the available tickets to be in blocks, schools needing time to organise the trip with responsible vetted adults and of course most schools had just returned from Easter holiday. Tiger's pricing was in line with charges by other clubs for category A mat...

Re: Boots?
Yes Wormus, I too started with leather studs secured by nails, the leather wore down quicker than the nails making the boots pretty dangerous in a ruck. The boots themselves had toe caps and high leather ankles requiring a lot of work with Dubbin to make them soft enough not to scratch your legs, by...

Re: Boots?
I think they do, partially because of the grip from the boots but mostly because of either plastic pitches or lush green well watered grass ones at the top level. I think it also affects the setting of scrums as props slide on the surface. I thing you are correct aluminium studs did become illegal, ...
