Re: Preseason fixtures confirmed - 2024/2025

It will be interesting to see how many potential Lions playing their rugby in France are actually released for the tour by their clubs.and how many that do travel will have a job to go back to.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

I hope it is a shoulder injury, I was concerned it might be linked to the leg injury he had whilst still at Brooksby. I doubt that Lewis was coming the big I am at Lions but he had been playing as captain for the Under 20's and maybe leadership was being misinterpreted. Personally I am not happy wit...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Most of the young players now in our team were brought through in the Murphy era as was Ben White and Sam Costello both now internationals.
We must continue to progress our young players with the addition of a few possibly foreign stars to fill.the gaps and bring quality and experience to the team.

Re: Preseason fixtures confirmed - 2024/2025

Hopefully the gap between pre season friendly matches and the start of the Premiership will be bridged by Premier Cup.games. We may also find that England players can return a little earlier as long as they have an early rest week. The rules were relaxed last season to enable Ellis Genge to make his...

Re: Saracens - Harlequins TMO

We have always been told that the TMO is unable to hear match commentary, if that is not the case why have we been lied to? If course we always knew that TMO's would see repeated viewings of an incident and maybe influenced by that but for them to ignore an incident on the grounds that the commentat...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

LE18, I am quite excited by the signing of Beet, I do like to see young players come through and Tigers have had a few successful project players in the past. Smith is a good solid prop, played well against us for Ospreys but I don't expect to see him making many runs ball in hand. Our new centre pl...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Edwards has not been given a chance to show what he can do. In fact many young players are now not being given the opportunity to make that transition from Academy to Premiership. The fault is that there is no A League and by swamping the squad with seasoned mature players the young ones are not get...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Many excited by our new signings. We have signed a South African Under20's player to add to our home produced English and Welsh Under 20's who are not getting much game time. We have gone to a poor Ospreys team for a prop not selected for the Wooden Spoon winning Welsh side and we have gone to the a...

Re: World Rugby reveal radical plan

Over the years I have seen so many amendments to the laws of the game few of them achieved the desired aim as the first thought of a coach is how to nullify or take advantage of the new situation. Since the intervention of referees to call set, engage etc the formation of a scrum takes longer, the r...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

The signing of Beers may turn out to be a great signing but I feel some are getting over excited by the signing of a player we know nothing about. I applaud the club in signing young players and developing them but that takes time, the Premiership is a tough place to learn your trade and there are n...

Re: Tigers vs Gloucester (H) - Premiership - Friday 22nd March 2024 - KO:19.45

If Anthony Watson were fit and well.I would have him.on the wing for our best team but I assume he is unavailable. Kata to me is a threat ball in hand but he does not distribute a lot, with Kelly, Scott, Cokanasiga and Porter all Premiership quality centres I think our best team is with Kata on the ...

Re: Tigers vs Gloucester (H) - Premiership - Friday 22nd March 2024 - KO:19.45

If Ben Youngs is fit he must start. If Steward is available should be in at 15. Personally i.would go with OHC and Kata on the wings with Kelly and Scott in the centre although I have no problem if one of the spaces is occupied by Cockanasiga. If Chessum and Martin are fit and available then they st...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Smith did give Hayes a tough time by scrummaging illegally, Hurd came on having watched from the airlines and no doubt been advised how to counter the tactics and Smith was no longer so effective. I think it was a part of our young props education. Smith is a decent prop but I am not sure he is bett...
