Re: Salaries to be investigated by HMRC
If many clubs are found to be guilty and liable for large sums of money that they had not budgeted for that could be the end of professional rugby as there may not be enough clubs survive to mount a realistic competition.

Re: Exeter's pitch
Our excellent groundstaff normally remove the surface of the pitch re-sand and re-seed the pitch between seasons, owing to the pandemic and the uncertainty of when games would restart I don't suppose it was done last year so that probably explains why the pitch is showing signs of wear. However it i...

Re: Next up London Irish - home - 5th March 2021
Ok we won and did not get a bonus point, yes it was against 14 men due to one of their guys being sent off for a very clear red card offence mid way through the second half. They were awarded a penalty try after our young 9 jumped in a vain attempt to intercept a high floated pass, our player was ye...

Re: Tom and Scott loan Tigers money
Even very wealthy individuals are unlikely to have millions of pounds sitting doing nothing their capital is earning for them possibly turning over a few times a year making profits and creating jobs, to loan to the Tigers they perhaps have to borrow from a source paying interest their selves, the d...

Re: Has Rugby Got a Fan Problem?
Ourla I agree with many of the things you say but I think your memories of the 90's a little rose tinted. We on the whole were very well behaved at Welford Road but it was not the same at every ground, I had no real problems but there are many who have interesting stories to tell about Gloucester, S...

Re: BRISTOL vs TIGERS - Sat 27 Feb 21 (1300)
We had 6 or 8 first teamers unavailable for various reasons, most of the changes involved starting with players that normally come off the bench. Personally I thought Moroni and Porter good in our backs and Simmons when he came on. In the forwards Reffell and Heyes were good Chessum and Henderson di...

Re: 20th Feb 2021 - Home vs Wasps
I note that at the hearing two of the panel have played the game and the Chair is a High Court judge, none of them are actually qualified referees and expert on the Laws of Rugby. I know this is normal but it does strike me as being wrong, surely when assessing a suitable punishment for transgressin...

Re: 20th Feb 2021 - Home vs Wasps
Dokie, I would suggest that in most cases where a player is jumping and travelling a distance through the air to gather a kick he is in fact chasing a kick by a team mate rather than an opposition kick forward where the ball is coming to him. Liebenberg was not making a tackle just as a few years ba...

Re: Ringfencing NOW upon us ?
Morally ringfencing is wrong and I am against it, however in current circumstances I can see the need for it as a temporary measure to give confidence to owners and lenders trying to help a club survive the pandemic with the resulting dramatic drop in income. My concern is that once introduced it ma...

Re: 20th Feb 2021 - Home vs Wasps
As in the North/ Adam Thompstone incident a couple of seasons back the fault lies with the jumper flying through the air into a man on the ground who is unable to get out of the way and indeed should be under no obligation to do so. What the laws of the game state is not the point but I firmly belie...

Confusing the ref telling us to roll East to West at the breakdown, at our ground the sides are North and South.

Re: Squad Sizes
Where are these Championship and local clubs playing to give our Development players game time. Currently several of our development squad are actually getting regular time on the pitch for our first team, if they were actually with a lower division team that was playing they would not be getting th...

Re: Away vs Quins Sat 13th Feb
O.K so we lost, that is a negative, on the positive side though is that in that game we involved half a dozen very young players from our Academy and they were far from the worst players on the pitch. Some people have questioned Heyes scrummaging ability, yesterday starting against one of Englands b...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE V: Borthwick Strikes Back
Whoever was responsible for bringing in Blake Enever would not have anticipated the problems settling in that would be caused by the pandemic regulations, back home in Australia they are by and large unaffected by the situation whilst over here he and his family would be unable to socialise properly...

Re: Ringfencing almost upon us ?
For those that have not visited Saracens recently they were still reliant on portacabins whenn we last played them in the Premiership, furthermore they had roped off portaloos because that corner of the ground was being used for players to exit the pitch and I would not be surprised to learn that on...
