Re: Tigers vs Gloucester - Teams Up

Lot of comment about who Gloucester had missing and who we had missing, it doesn't matter, the game was between the two best teams that both clubs could put out on the day. That we were the stronger was a testament to or strength in depth a situation we have not had in recent years, is this due to a...

Re: Tigers vs Gloucester

Why when listing the players not available to Gloucester doesn't Sam1161198 also list those not available to Tigers.

Re: Geordan Murphy leaves the club!

Have a good look at Leicester City, how long did Ranieri last after winning the Premiership and how many of those players are still with City? Professional soccer is a tough hard nosed business and rugby is following suit. I agree that probably one of the roles of D.O.R is to identify and procure pla...

Re: A Proper Clear Out

When Geordan took over as Head Coach he had more actual coaching experience than either Dean Richards or Pat Howard when they took charge and they did not turn out too badly. I do not share the view that Geordan was out of his depth, the circumstances he inherited were awful due to previous bad deci...

Re: A Proper Clear Out

If there is a fair sum of the eighty year olds money involved it makes a difference on who decides whether he goes or stays and you are being ageist, the U.S.A have just elected a man only slightly younger to be President for the next four years. The rugby business we support has gone through troubl...

Re: Happy birthday johnthegriff!

In these enlightened times candles are a thing of the past as the number required represent a serious fire hazard, not to mention the possibility of spreading disease as I try to raise enough puff to blow them out.

Re: Geordan Murphy leaves the club!

Geordan was appointed following the dismissal of Matt O'Connor, he was left with a team that was unfit, a back line that was largely absent and a back up squad that was simply not good enough. The following season started with two thirds of his team absent for the World Cup and the knowledge that at...

Re: Happy birthday johnthegriff!

Thank you to all who wished me a happy birthday, for these difficult times I had a pretty good day, a walk on Knighton Park, a visit to a friend for coffee and chocolate cake, a few phone calls and a visit at home from one of my daughters and her husband. My lamb steak dinner went well as did the tw...

Re: Gamesmanship shenanigans

I think I am probably of the same generation as Old Hob and understand and agree with much of his post above. However memory tells me that rugby even at local level in the 60's and 70's was not quite as pure as some would think and the off pitch antics of some would be hard to explain to ones grandc...

Re: Happy birthday johnthegriff!

Wow! Thank you very much. I will be having a walk in the park (on my own), visiting a close friend for a coffee and cake, and in the fridge I have a lamb steak that will go nicely with a glass of red, exciting times. Possibly I may even hear from my children or grandchildren, so much to look forward...

Re: Transfers and Rumours Non-Tigers 2019-20

Any English player playing outside England does so knowing they forfeit the right to be considered for selection, the England release agreement with Premiership clubs covers not just matches but squad training sessions also. If a talented player negotiated a deal with any French club that guaranteed...

Re: Wigglesworth in!

Wigglesworth has given sterling service to both Sale, Saracens and England over many years he has now joined us and I look for the same level of service. I do not condemn him for the financial sins of his former club, they were not the responsibility of the players, the legal people and those in cha...

Re: Rob Taylor leaves on compassionate grounds

I think it is important that whoever comes in as attack coach is Borthwick's choice. Steve B is Head Coach and whilst others will have some input the new recruit must be in the main by his decision as he is the one they have to bond and work with. Having said that I think some on this message board ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE IV: A New Hope

I don't expect it to happen but if Leicester Football Club went out of existence there would be no reason why the liquidator would not accept a few quid for the name Leicester Tigers, alternatively there would be no need to buy the name just call the new team The Tigers. Only problem is if our club ...
