Re: Money

Well Smudge, I am watching Liverpool and, to a degree Everton, proving you wrong. Of course Liverpool, despite having huge debts, are not paupers from a revenue perspective. But neither are they in the league of Chelsea or Man City. That is very over simplistic. As you say Liverpool are heavily in ...

Re: Manu named in England squad

Just shows you how desperate England's midfield situation is. A bloke who has been out for 5 months plays 70 minutes (pretty rusty for much of the 70 minutes too!) and gets drafted straight back into the England squad.

Re: Deliberate knock-on or not?

The inconsistency of refereeing is so frustrating. If the rule is one handed knock-on = yellow card, then fine, as long as ALL referees apply the same decisions in ALL games. But we had three yellows in one game and next week in the same situation, we could conceivably get none! Sure, it didn't cost...

Re: Help please

In row 'C' you'll definitely get wet in the rain. I would say that anything inside the first 9-10 rows has the danger of rain in the CAT stand.

Re: Saracens game - advice

'If you are looking for nourishment and sustenance you will most definitely be better off using the comprehensive facilities available at the stadium itself.' And Saracens would say that but many people cannot afford the food and drink prices that are typically charged within stadia (including Tige...

Re: Heineken Cup no nearer a resolution

There is a slice of hypocracy in PRL's position. Their issue with regard to Europe is in respect of qualification criteria for the HC and the disproportionate distribution of money which penalises both the English and French clubs. Yet, when they receive the money from the RFU for the EPS members wh...

Re: SCW hits out at "safety first" slancaster

It was said in the commentary on Saturday that Joel Tompkins in particular completely failed to pass the ball, looking on every occasion to take the ball into contact and recycle it a la RL.

Re: Lancaster holds forth

Toby Flood has started 6 games as fly half under Lancaster. Sadly he didnt show any form to justify he kept the shirt, aside from one performance in south africa, when the team was soundly beaten. The other available fly halfs, Burns, Ford, Cipriani have made no case at all that they are ready for ...

Re: Contract talks - Toby Flood

Players who are out of contract will be deciding their future for next season and beyond before the end of January IMO. And if Flood is leaving then we really need to know soon so that we can plan to replace him before alternative players tie their futures down. So for me there is a degree of urgenc...

Re: Mallinder and West behaviour

It was criminal ineptitude from the officials that handed Gloucester a victory they thoroughly did not deserve and robbed Saints of 3 points which could be the difference between a home ply-off place come the end of the season.

Re: Northampton - blind faith or rose coloured spectacles

Ruserious, the comments about the management structure at Northampton were made to me by a season ticket holder of more than 20 years at Franklins Gardens. As regards the CL tackles, if you are aiming to take a player out of the game by whatever means it is wrong. It doesn't matter who it is, it's ...
