Re: Why is Rugby So Different
[quote="Gate"]DW is spot on. Gate Junior I has just started with the local rugby club, and they've been training to sort out the teams. Last Sunday he picked the fancy OC, nailed him straight from the textbook, low, hard, perfect wrap, put him in touch on his bum and helped him up afterwar...

Re: Sale v Tigers
Commentator mentioned need for pace for Tigers - then mentioned Varndell. How many times are we going to hear that this season?

Re: Lions Team v Emerging Springboks
Agree with all of the above, including our Harry, sadly, but there are other positional issues...am I the only person who thinks Powell has been a liability? Almost every time he gets the ball he turns it over or concedes a penalty. Then there's the fly-half position. I think our problem is that bot...

Re: Ratings for Sharks vs Lions
Croft failed to get his hands on the ball??? What game was the Times man watching? Croft was involved in the slick passing move that set BOD free before off-loading to Fitzgerald for his try. Beautiful soft hands that kept the ball moving.

Re: Referees
I share your outrage mightymouse. I also share your concerns about POC. I mentioned on another thread that I thought one of the main things missing from his first two matches was leadership. He's no Johnno, as you say, or (dare I mention his name) no Dallaglio either. He needs to stand up and be cou...

Re: Referees
Bill, I agree that Wayne Barnes refereeing a Lions match is also unacceptable from the point of view of neutrality, although he did the Lions no favours. His performance was extraordinary, issuing a yellow card for a first offence when Kaplan just issued warning after warning. Perhaps Barnes was try...

Re: Referees
Kaplan went far beyond merely inept tonight. His performance called into question his ability to be objective given how much he favoured the home team. In the modern era there should be completely neutral referees from France, New Zealand, Australia...having a South African referee a Lions match in ...

Re: Running predictions for the test team
If you're picking on form then POC is a problem. He's not played well in his games and looks slow. I would far rather have Wynn Jones/Hines combo but what would you do if you didn't pick the Captain??? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------...

Mol2 makes an interesting point. On Yahoo sports Backy, in his regular column, suggests that drug abuse is not widespread and a number of posters on this thread express the hope that nobody at Leicester is tempted down this road. I agree with those that say there should more routine off-season testi...

Re: Ideas for items for sale in the Tigers shop
A stress ball in Tigers colours is something you can definitely get from the online shop. I have one and it's had quite a mauling lately!

Re: Ideas for items for sale in the Tigers shop
A good coffee mug in club colours would stand out in my workplace amongst all the Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea mugs. (Unless such an item is already available and I just haven't spotted it.)

Re: Leicester fans in London
I live in Orpington, Kent. Don't get up to Leicester much these days but have managed to catch the Tigers at Quins and Twickenham. I too seem surrounded by Wasps and Quins fans.

The citing officers will be working overtime after that one. That Lawes can certainly take a punch!!
Well done Saints. A thoroughly deserved and hard fought (in every sense) victory.

Re: England squad announced - Vesty in, Cipriani out
I completely concur with the comments about Dan Cole. After the match on Saturday he was the ONLY Tiger who had actually been on the field to come out to the bus and sign some autographs along the way (Stankovich and Rabeni also spent some time with fans). He took the time to sign my young son's rug...
